Hello folks, this week I made the Seaside Camp (25x25). As I mentioned in the main post, I ended up with 2 days to make this map, which was largely assembled exclusively using bits and pieces of several old maps. I don't usually like to lean so heavily on old drawings, but I felt I ought to release something since I was also unable to whip up a map last week. With that in mind, your alternate version is simply one without the camp, leaving plenty of room for activities.

Also, my computer crashed after I had written this post but before I could post it- fun!

1. So, with the time I had I knew I would need to make something quick and and satisfying, which meant it would have to be a forest map (my bread and butter). I have plenty of forest props on hand and enough rock walls that, as long as I didn't make a map with unusually-shaped platforms, I could probably find something in an old map that would fit the bill. On top of that, I've made only about 5 or 6 camp maps before, so people would probably appreciate another, and additionally the props I've drawn for them are relatively unused.

2. With all of that in mind, I think the only new parts of this map I needed to draw were the beach, the water, the end of the large rock wall at the bottom, and a small amount of grass, the rest was recycled. Honestly though, if you didn't know that then this just seems like a fairly solid map, so I don't feel too terribly bad about cutting these corners (but I do feel bad enough that I hope not to need to do so again).

3. I was tempted to use my recent jungle palette for this map, the one I made for the Jungle Ledge, but I felt that I would probably have an easier time if I stuck to a palette I was more confident with. I'm going to have to catch up on my Revisited posts eventually though, so perhaps I'll go back and make more 'jungley' versions of several popular forest maps? I'd love to hear what you all think I should Revisit, so let me know.

The tents help a lot with adding a proper sense of scale to the rest of the map
