I'm back this week with the Sunken Ruins (25x30), which was suggested by the Master patrons in their Discord! Specifically they asked for an underwater map, and seeing as I would need to spend some time experimenting with some new effects, I decided to focus the map on something familiar. I think it turned out very well, and now that I've got a good idea of how to make a map feel underwater maybe I can alter a few of my old ones to match it? Just a thought, let me know what you think!

I'm not sure what circumstances will bring your players to the depths of the sea, but I don't doubt you all could come up with something pretty neat. I think, for a sidequest, I'd introduce a sailor who was hired by a wealthy noble to dump some powerful artifact into the sea so no one would get their hands on it and is looking to sell the information of where it was dumped. Or maybe the local townspeople tell stories about the neighboring town that was swallowed by the sea decades ago, and even to this day the nearby shores are stalked by water elementals who guard the borders of the submerged village. Not a bad mystery, huh? That would probably be enough to pique my players' interest at least.

Adepts can find their post here, and Experts can find theirs here!

I'm currently not sure how to get my players somewhere underwater, but if you end up making more maps in this style, you'll persuade me to make a quest set beneath the surface of the sea. :) The colors are very nice, and everything has very watery feel. If you do feel like making more underwater maps, do you think you could add stuff like large seashells? Those spiraly ones, or clams, or maybe even some other marine life (octopus, turtles etc.)? Just some suggestions tho, I'll love your maps anyway!

This is awesome! Great for some sort of water breathing adventure

My wife actually suggested the same thing! She wants more giant shells, and I think that's a cool idea. Next time around I'll try to integrate more of that sort of thing

As an apprentice Patron, do I not get access to this map? I ask because the link only allows me to download the jpg and not the usual Zip file that we normally receive.

Wow, sorry about that! I don't know how that one slipped by me- it's all good now!
