This week's map is the Hangman's Courtyard (30x30), another multi-purpose urban map to fill out your cities with! City squares are just about the most useful thing I could make I think, even better if it's got plenty of open space for activities or specialized set-pieces/props. This time around the key feature of the square is a gallows and lots of room for crowds to gawk at the spectacle, maybe a good map to whip out as players first drift into a new town and you want to show them the dark side of the city with public executions. Or perhaps a friend or ally of the players has finally gotten on the bad side of the law and is in need of saving before it's too late?

Next week's map is going to be something a little different, I'll be returning to collaborations with James Webster of James' RPG Art! He's come up with a fun environment this time that I'm confident a lot of you will really enjoy, you won't want to miss it!

Adepts can find their post here, and Experts can find theirs here!

Excellent! I'm running Curse of Strahd right now, and this is PERFECT for the center of Vallaki!

Hi! Another awesome map, thank you! Any chance you could put together a slightly further zoomed out version? Reason I ask is that I imagine this being like the center of a rescue scene (yes, I'm thinking of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, you can lynch me for it at will) and I know my party would love planning things out. For that, having roughly the lay of the land out to the next row of surrounding streets would really help.

Hey Craig! At this point, adding more to the map would be a pretty huge effort, comparable to making a new map. Adding all the extra lines, color, and shading is trickier than you might think, especially since I usually delete all the extra bits the land off-screen in order to keep the file size down. I'd suggest using another of my city maps, like the Cluttered Alleys, together with this one as a way to show what's going on just off screen.

Are you ghosting my campaign?! This is legit like perfect timing. I'm expecting a combat in a courtyard after a sham trial, and this is PERFECT! Great work!
