Hello everyone, I'm back this week with the third week of a series of exotic locations- a Mushroom Forest (30x30)! This winding path follows a twisting river/expansive ocean/gleaming lake (depends on who you ask), and interestingly enough mushrooms of unusual size are common in these lands. I'd bet that the mushrooms aren't the only oddity here, surely strange enemies lurk in these 'woods', so you'd best be on your guard!

For this map, I worked with another artist, James Webster of James' RPG Art! He created atmospheric animated art from the players' view along the path through the mushrooms, which I think is an excellent way to immerse your players in the scene while also giving you a sense of scale of what you're looking at. I wholeheartedly recommend checking out his work on Instagram, he's made a lot of great stuff for DnD's Curse of Strahd adventure as well!

Also, the adept version of this map includes lots of fog effects, or perhaps clouds of spores? I'd play it safe and try not to breathe it in if I could help it, I don't want mushrooms growing in my lungs or something.

Adepts can find their post here!

Perfect!

Rhiannon

I'd really like to see a spooky swamp, with sprawling dead looking trees and grayish water and such.

The link seems to be broken for me, but the adept version still works, so no need to hurry. Just a heads-up. :)
