Burp Reaction Headcanons - Gepard (Patreon)

Next up, we have everybody's soft boi big brother, Gepard:

Gepard (Honkai: Star Rail)

• Gepard is a tricky one because he's a very prim and proper man who always wants to set the best example he can, without being uptight or prissy.  He's canonically a firm believer in having a balanced diet and always wants to set a good example for younger soldiers looking to be captain.  So, it's a given that he's incredibly well-mannered and does his best to never appear boorish or rude.
• He's the type to do everything in his power to mute any burp that he may feel building up.  If he feels pressure in his chest, he'll rub his lower face like one does when in deep thought, and turn his head to give as soft and muted a burp as he can, and clear his throat immediately so as to not draw attention.
• Under no circumstances will he ever allow himself to burp out loud.  Even by himself, he's an earnest enough person for a man his age to still maintain good manners and be the example he strives to set for others.
• Most of the time, if he burps, you'll never even hear it since he knows how to be discreet.
• There have been instances where he's had an upset stomach, be it something he ate just not agreeing with him.  Usually, if he's eaten something a little greasier than he's used to.
• When he's nauseous from something he ate, his stomach starts gurgling very noisily, and he'll hug his midsection to try and mute it, all while hunching over and clutching his mouth o avoid burping and accidentally expelling more than air.
• Nausea and sickness are the only times he'll ever burp out loud, and he'll still try to hold them in.  When they roll out, they're thick, wet and painful, often leaving him huffing and groaning miserably.
• Even in a nauseous state, he'll still excuse himself just out of habit.
• Gepard has a very strict diet, so he minimizes extra greasy or processed foods, but if, say, someone goads him into eating something he normally wouldn't eat, that can cause him digestive discomfort.
• Grease can give Gepard really bad heartburn because his body is not used to extra oily, processed junk.
• When he gets heartburn, it's very difficult for Gepard to be as discreet as he'd like.
• He'll grimace, push a fist against his mouth, and give a pretty hefty muffled belch that makes his cheeks puff up.
• When that happens, even at his age, he'll blush and apologize, then immediately excuse himself to ride out his indigestion in private.
• Gepard absolutely doesn't want to be around people when he has heartburn because unless he has something to settle his stomach, more than a few much heavier burps are going to be working their way up his throat, and muffling them is going to be painful, and still pretty loud.
• When he gives an especially heavy muffled belch, he'll huff, grimace and rub his chest in discomfort, excusing himself to no one in particular and, even alone, still blush with embarrassment at how gross he feels and sounds.
• He'll also be keen to remind recruits that a balanced diet is important explicitly to avoid getting heartburn and getting preoccupied by it...I.E. "holding back heavy, greasy burps and being too embarrassed by it to perform your duties."
