Hi everyone, a somewhat depressing week in terms of gaming news - and the genuine sense that we're looking at a massive, industry-wide pivot heralded by redundancies, studio closures and more. The games industry is clearly contracting and the human cost is tremendous, badly managed some of the worst 'optics' I think I've seen from the games industry in over 30 years in the business. The bad news keeps on coming, but what's also alarming is the distinct lack of announced strategy beyond simply shedding staff, cutting costs and cancelling games.

Where are we heading next? Has there just suddenly been a mass realisation that the current business models are not working? I'd be interested in your thoughts.

There's other stuff to talk about in the next Direct, filming tomorrow morning. We'll be discussing another PR shot/foot interface in the form of Pentiment shipping on PS5 with 120Hz support Xbox does not have, and we'll also be considering the news that Nintendo is taking action against the creators of the Yuzu Switch emulator.

And in happier news, we'll be talking about that Kingmakers trailer. We actually saw it a few weeks ago and couldn't quite believe what we were seeing - we've spoken to the developers about it and ahead of a big video coming your way, we'll be discussing the trailer and teasing some of the details we've uncovered.

Any more topics you'd like to see covered this week? Do let us know - and of course, feel free to bombard us with questions and comments on these topics and anything else you've been pondering in the ubiquitous 'comments box below'. Thanks!

Not quite a question, but if you guys are covering the Battlefront collection when it launches, you might want to look into this and see what the state of everything is, in the final game? https://www.ign.com/articles/eagle-eyed-modders-spot-something-off-with-the-star-wars-battlefront-classic-collection-trailer-and-asajj-ventress-holds-the-key

Hello distinguished gents (tips hat)! I recently built a behomoth 4090 7800X3D gaming pc (called Mogo after the green lantern planet for you DC fans out there). I have an alienware 4k 240hz monitor and am loving the experience. However I am experiencing bad VRR flicker in certain titles like Cyberpunk. How can I eliinate this as its very jarring. I tried moving to 120hz which eased it. For context I am running cyberpunk maxed out to Krypton with frame gen and ray reconstruction.
