Hi everyone and welcome to the latest Call For Questions for the next edition of DF Direct Weekly - the milestone 150th edition - for which we have absolutely no special plans whatsoever! And why should we, when the content is so strong.

We're eagerly awaiting Microsoft's podcast/business update later today, so we'll be sharing our thoughts on whatever announcements or lack of them the Xbox team has for us. We'll also be discussing the somewhat apocalyptic PlayStation financial briefing, which seems to be suggesting that there'll be no first-party megaton games until 2025 and that the generation has already peaked. Wow.

Beyond that, Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore is featured, principally because John worked heavily on it. And then Rich (ie me) will be sharing his 'journey' in getting hold of a 77-inch OLED TV (via Facebook Marketplace, naturally) to replace the 75-inch LCD that has, unfortunately, developed a fault.

Anything else we should be covering? Any specific questions on these topics or gaming more generally you'd like us to tackle? The stage - or rather the comments box below - is yours.

With Microsoft making crude jokes like "Every hole is a..", sorry I meant: "every screen is an Xbox", and recent admissions that windows is an 'obstacle' on handhelds. Is it time for Microsoft to create a lightweight game-centric "XbOS" (Xbox OS) - something that basically runs on anything, allows quick booting between it and windows, is highly optimized for microsoft hardware - runs and integrates Game-Pass.. and if they're feeling harmonius, maybe Steam too.. ?

Lots of speculation about a Microsoft handheld. How outlandish/possible would it be to make a handheld that matches the Series S for specs and power? What would that kind of handheld cost at console manufacturing volumes, and how would it compare to the expected Switch 2?

Dear Digital Founders, As we know, Sony has announced that the PS5 is in the “latter stages of its life cycle”, and yet Wikipedia lists a mere 13 games as PS5 exclusives. I’m curious as to what Digital Foundry (and especially Mr. Linneman) thinks that Chad Warden’s reaction would be now that it is unfortunately Playstation that “ain’t got games”. You would hope Sony would have worked harder to prevent this problem, especially after modelling the PS Quintuple’s design after Mr. Warden’s popped collar. Thanks again to the Digital Founding Fathers, for all your work and insight, -Everett James (Montreal, QC) PS. At least the PS Portal should provide Mr. Warden with a more convenient form factor to take along “HD games” while he’s rolling in his Caddy, trying to get some hunnies.
