Apologies that this one's a bit late - technical issues with audio needed to be resolved, while the FTP uploads are very slow for some reason!

We've finally got hold of a PlayStation Portal and we've got some initial impressions for you as we kick off this week's DF Direct Weekly, but beyond that we're talking about Steam Deck vs ROG Ally complete with some fresh benchmarks, we update you with our latest adventures with EA WRC on PC, while John spends plenty of time discussing the new RetroTink and its $750 price-point - along with his latest adventures with Meta Quest 3, Doom VR and the new Assassin's Creed VR experience.

As usual, just a PSA that if you're new to the DF Supporter Program or you've arrived from elsewhere in the multiverse where accessing the Direct is a bit different - and you want (nay demand!) access to our supporter-exclusive RSS feed for your podcasting needs - please ignore any Patreon links elsewhere and head over here for your exclusive feed: https://open.acast.com/public/patreon/fanSubscribe/593963

How does the Portal compare to the OLED steam deck for remote play ? I have a Portal Arriving Tuesday but am considering buying OLED deck for remote play due to the HDR screen and The one or two Xbox games I like to play since selling my SX I never really used. Oled deck could also use a capture card from the ps5 and I wonder how latency compares vs Remote Play. I imagine remote play would still need to run in the background for the controls. I just noticed Steam deck can be used as Bluetooth controller so using adapter to the PS5 and capture card I imagine it could be used in this way provided you had long enough cable for the capture. What I want to know is Steam Deck OLED vs Portal for PS5 Remote Play Performance Controls Screen and Latency. Steam Deck Remote Play vs Capture card to Steam Deck from PS5 Latency.

The console versions of EA WRC are also a stutter-fest. Would absolutely love it if DF could look into them at some point :)
