Hi every! Once again, it's Rich here with your weekly update on everything we're thinking of producing here at Digital Foundry. It's going to be a busy week with a figurative ton of #content so let's get straight to it because... it's Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart PC week.

* Alex is taking point on our Ratchet PC coverage, which will include all the performance testing, graphics comparisons and optimised settings you could possibly hope for. The chances of this analysis arriving on day one look virtually nonexistent, so the plan is to produce another real-time three-way impressions video in the style of the TLOUp1 content we produced a while back: max spec PC vs PS5 vs min spec PC. Should be fun.

* John is aiming to complete the nigh on mythical Road Rash DF Retro episode this week! There was a set-back when filmed content he had in the can was accidentally deleted, but he's back on track.

* Tom is finalising his Exoprimal sponsored video, which is more of a focus on the RE Engine and its deployment in this title. That should be done by mid-week, at which point he pivots to Pikman 4 on Nintendo Switch.

* Oliver has just finished his Remnant 2 video and at some point, will be taking on the Ratchet three-way video we have planned. The idea is to you a nice chunk of introductory Ratchet PC content as soon as possible after launch.

* Rich (ie me) finished the grand 4800S Desktop Kit review last week and it's been on early access for a while now on premium/retro tiers. Xbox CPU vs PC games! Expect it to go public sometime this week. I'm working on Ayaneo 2S and Air 1S reviews. I'm also experimenting with 'Mariko' Switch overclocking, finally!

* Will is benching the Core i3 12100 in preparations for a 'best gaming CPU' piece I'd like to build out into a video at some point.

We're also looking into the PlayStation 5 Pro rumour/leak from last week and may produce a mini-Direct if we can add any value.

If, by any chance, you're in a position to positively rule in/rule out these leaks, do get in touch via Patreon messaging, or Discord (@digitalfoundry) or email - info@digitalfoundry.org. We can assure you of complete confidentiality.

Have a great week!

“The chances of this analysis arriving on day one look virtually nonexistent” Oh no, this is a Spider-Man situation all over again, isn’t it

Given Tom Henderson’s track record with playstation hardware recently the leaks are looking very likely to be true, still props for doing your due diligence first. Excited to see your coverage on it.

Well, to be clear, the track record is Project Q which was bang on - but still no sign or other confirmation of the detachable BD Drive.

Richard you are such a troll, lol. I will eat my hat if the Dark one (X) gets the Road Rash retro out! John, I’ve a suggestion for DF Retro. Ranger X. I think it was a super interesting on the scrolling shooter with awesome sprites and scrolling.

Have you guys received a ratchet and clank code yet? Or should we be worried that Sony hides something like they did with tloup1? I do have faith in Nixxes in delivering an excellent port though.

Hopefully, they have and there's just a lot to talk about. Could be that Alex is trying to figure out when Direct 1.2 is active or not and it's requiring a lot of time. Plus all those RT modes, plus like can you play it on an HDD? What are those optimized settings? lots to talk about in a review for this game Hopefully it's not a tloup1 situation. Publishers need to realize that if you want people to pre-order or buy your game for full price, it's gotta be well put together. (Or at least if you want me to buy/preorder your game) If this launch goes smoothly I vow to pre-order the next Nixxes game

Alex, am I the only one noticing that, like in Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man Miles Morales, that the animation of environmental objects you destroy in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart play back unusually?; it speeds up significantly when playing at a higher FPS than 30/60 compared to the PS5 version.
