Coming This Week on Digital Foundry (Week 25, 2023) (Patreon)
Content
Hi everyone, Rich here with your regular update on what's happening in the world of Digital Foundry and what you should expecting across this week and beyond because as the saying goes: #content never sleeps.
Let's talk Xbox showcase. In the wake of the show last night, it was the first order of business in this week's team meeting. Obviously we're not going to be waiting until Friday to record a DF Direct reaction, so that actually took place directly after the meeting. It's in the can. Subsequent to that, the decision has been made to produce a second reaction video, based entirely on the Starfield Direct.
In the case of other stuff:
* Rich (ie me) has almost finished the 1080p GPU market video, which also includes a full reappraisal of Arc A750 and A770! I've got to admit, there's been a lot of discussion about stagnation in the entry-level dGPU market, but when there's so much price-cutting going on, things look a lot more interesting - even if the ramifications are that new products aimed at the same price points as the discounts look underwhelming.
* John is slated to be taking point on our Final Fantasy 16 coverage.
* Don is on the home straight with the Diablo 4 PC review, which will be going on early access to premium/retro supporters ASAP and we'll try to find a YT slot for it in the near future.
* Oliver is taking part in both of the Directs we're producing and will be delivering his usual top-tier editing work! Beyond that? Well, Windows games running on Mac - you want to see that, right? And how about Resi Village native vs 'wrapper' comparisons? Is the new No Man's Sky port any good? It'll be a Mac extravaganza.
* Tom will be taking point on Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty expansion. And yes, we've noted how there are two versions of the trailer...
* Alex is working on the Street Fighter 6 PC review.
* Will is working on the AMD 4800S content. We have now confirmed beyond all doubt that this is the Series X APU and we can also confirm that we are not bandwidth constrained at 1080p with an RTX 3090 meaning that CPU comparisons with normal PC processors are viable. Premium/Retro supporters should get a look at some early data later this week.
Beyond the 1080p GPU video, I've just received the AyaNeo 2S based on the Ryzen 7840U APU. I'm trying to wrangle a return of the ROG Ally to rebench it (again) for another big handheld head-to-head.
Anything else you think we should be looking at considering. The stage (or rather the comments box below) is yours.
