Content

Well, hello there! It was a somewhat depleted weekly meeting today - John has begun a two-week vacation to the USA, while Alex is a bit under the weather, but regardless - #content never sleeps, right? This is what we're doing at the moment, along with various timings on when you can expect it - as far as we know.

  • John might be away but he did leave us a parting gift - an excellent review of Stellar Blade for PlayStation 5, which we'll be running on Wednesday. Is there much more to say beyond Tom's preview coverage based on the demo? Yes, there is!

  • Alex has had to postpone the Unreal Engine 5.4 content as the Matrix Awakens City Sample demo simply refuses to compile (if you've had better luck, give him a shout on Discord!). He's expertly executed a pivot, taking a look at the impressive RTX Remix version of Need for Speed Underground.

  • Rich (ie me) has finished the albatross that became the handhelds video and it's been on early access to premium supporters for a while now. I think I'll do a general early access for all supporters on it later today. Beyond that, I'm working on a sponsored video for the HP Omen Transcend 14. Path-tracing on a 65W GPU? It's happening.

  • Tom is polishing off our Grounded coverage, looking at Xbox Series consoles, PlayStation 5 and Switch. There's been a disconcerting trend for Xbox multi-plat titles to present with minor tech improvements on PS5 over Xbox... but that comes to an end in pretty dramatic fashion on this one. He's also ready for the Fallout 4 current-gen upgrade, while running a project on embargoed content in the background.

  • Oliver is on the homeward run with his video on ray tracing running on Steam Deck and beyond that, will be looking at other original pitches not necessarily involving new games - because there are very few!

  • Will continues to run our output on Eurogamer, with reviews on MSI's QD-OLED monitors coming soon. He's also behind our attempts to get our 'merch' operation in order - so many thanks for those who've supported him and us in our endeavours in this area!

Outside of the core team, Marc 'Try4ce' Duddleson from My Life in Gaming continues to work on our Xbox review of Final Fantasy 14, while also laying the ground work for the coverage we have planned in a couple of months' time covering the game's new graphics facelift.

Do let us know if you have anything you'd like us to take a look at, but in the meantime, have a wonderful week!

The Knight Who Says Ni!

I know DF Doesn't normally cover sports games but I love love to see a DF Review of TopSpin 2K25, which is the first release in the series in 13 years.

If Alex and John are both out, does that mean Will could be on DF Direct this week? (It has been too long)
