Chapter 215: The Crowd under the Thunderclouds

Biscuit Krueger has been a tremendous help to Luo, from the initial physical training to the orderly cultivation of Nen abilities. All her efforts were invested in his progress.

Luo's improvement during this period was incredibly rapid, not only due to Biscuit's effective teaching but also thanks to Ms. Cookie and Sanbica's healing.

In a sense, encountering Biscuit and Sanbica was a stroke of luck for Luo.

This is a dangerous world where hunters willingly face peril, a role with a very high mortality rate. Under Biscuit's guidance, Luo has gained the ability to avoid many potential dangers ahead of time.

His use of Ken has stabilized, and next, he'll focus on mastering Ryu and Ko, as well as refining his combat experience.

Every day, regardless of the weather or whether it's day or night, Luo constantly battles Biscuit.

The weather impacts the environment, incorporating various factors, necessitating frequent adaptation, especially during nighttime fights due to visibility differences.

Their battles aren't formal training matches but rather resemble sparring sessions between a boxer and a coach. However, Luo acts as a coach with protective gear, while Biscuit is the boxer with boxing gloves.

After each round, Biscuit points out Luo's issues, partly to refine his use of Ryu and partly to enhance his combat responsiveness.

"Why are you retreating? You could step forward and block my straight punch with your right hand, then knee my abdomen. Even if I block it, you could still follow up with more attacks!"

Earlier, when Biscuit launched a straight punch, leaning slightly forward, Luo chose to retreat instead of seizing the opportunity to counter-attack, losing a good chance to go on the offensive.

"What were you thinking, attempting a mid-air side kick in that situation?"

As Biscuit made a short backward jump, Luo tried to launch a flying side kick at Biscuit's neck, which she easily grabbed by the ankle. She could have delivered a crushing blow then, but refrained since it was a training battle.

If Luo hadn't improved his Nen abilities considerably, Biscuit could have broken his ankle right then.

"Defense, defense! You always defend when you need to be attacking, and recklessly attack when you should be defending!"

"Is it that hard to decide whether to advance or retreat?"

"How many times do you want to make the same mistake?"

"If you're not sure, why do you attack without any reservations?"

Once Biscuit switched to her mentor mode, Luo felt desperate, even beginning to doubt his life choices.

He didn't know if Biscuit's demands were too harsh or if he really had that many issues, but almost every decision he made was criticized by her.

That evening, exhausted and despondent, Luo collapsed on the ground, drained of all his Nen. If he had a hundred lives, he might have lost seventy or eighty in just over an hour.

After his Nen was depleted, Luo's clothes were soaked with sweat, and the fatigue hit him like a tidal wave. It felt like he might fall into a deep sleep the moment he closed his eyes.

In contrast, Biscuit was still breathing evenly, hardly showing any signs of fatigue except for a slight sweat.

"If you make the same mistake more than three times, I won't be so lenient!" Biscuit stared at Luo lying directly on the rocky ground.

Resigned, Luo could only raise his hand and give an 'okay' gesture.

"Are you okay?"

Sanbica came over with a bottle of water and a dry towel, handing the water to Luo and then wiping the sweat from his face with the towel.

"I'll do it myself."

After taking the water, Luo smiled at Sanbica.

Sanbica paused for a moment, then nodded slightly and handed him the dry towel.

Luo took the towel and fiercely wiped his face, then covered his face with it, sinking into deep thought.

He was trying hard not to make mistakes, but in the fleeting moments of combat, decisions often had to be made without time for careful consideration.

Watching the silent Luo, Sanbica bit her lip and then turned back to return to the stone chair in front of the stone house.

Biscuit then summoned Ms. Cookie to give Luo a massage, before sitting next to Sanbica and taking a drink from a water jug on the stone table.

Ms. Cookie, experienced in her task, knelt beside Luo, starting with a technique called "Peachy Breath" before beginning the massage.

"Thanks for your help again." Luo pulled the towel off his face and turned to Ms. Cookie, who just smiled back.

"Rumble…!"

Distant thunder rolled across the sky.

Lying there, Luo could directly see the orange-hued sky, but on one side, dark clouds were slowly creeping over.

"Biscuit."

Seeing the clouds occasionally flashing with

lightning, Luo called out to Biscuit.

Biscuit also looked toward the distant thunderclouds, and after hearing Luo's voice, she calmly said, "No rush. From the look of it, it's going to rain all night, giving us plenty of time to train."

"Okay." Luo responded and then closed his eyes, hoping to fall asleep quickly.

The wind suddenly picked up, whipping up sand and stones, causing a chilling sensation on the skin.

The dark thunderclouds moved over the valley within minutes, swallowing the orange sky and looming over everyone's heads.

The clouds churned, and amidst flashes of lightning, the sound of thunder filled the sky.

The wind howled, and countless grains of sand flew about restlessly, darkening the world as if a storm was about to break.

The rain didn't start immediately, but the wind grew stronger, and the lightning snaked through the clouds like dragons.

In such weather, Luo lay on the valley floor and fell asleep, while Ms. Cookie unflinchingly continued the full-body massage.

"Sanbica, you should go inside." Biscuit looked up at the sky, noting that it wouldn't rain just yet, but once it started, it would be a torrential downpour.

Sanbica silently nodded, then walked back into the stone house.

Since this training began, Luo and Biscuit had sparred in the rain three times, twice during the day and once at night.

This moment was an opportune time for training, and Biscuit wouldn't miss it.

The sleeping Luo and the waiting Biscuit were both ready for the rain to fall, and at the same time, many others had come near the Talmah Mountains, also waiting for the rain.

Some came for training, while others sought the ill-fated toad.

During thunderstorms, at least three to four hundred people risked their lives in the Talmah Mountains, hoping for luck; about half were locals, and the rest were hunters.

A dead ill-fated toad could sell for around twenty million Jenny, while a live one started at a hundred million.

That night, among the hundreds there, some reached the mountaintop or the mountainside near the valley. Then, using the fleeting lightning, many noticed something unusual at the valley's bottom.

A young man lay on the ground, seemingly asleep, with a sweet-looking young woman massaging him. Nearby, a young girl sat in front of a house.

The weather was like a roaring tiger, and the actions of the three below clashed with the impending storm.

Among those who had secured good spots were Ge'er, who had been to the market, and a middle-aged man Luo had once helped.

The man, wearing a beastly garment, chose a spot halfway up the mountain, while Ge'er stood at the summit.

Though the lightning lasted only briefly, it was bright enough for the middle-aged man to recognize Luo, his face showing surprise.

Ge'er didn't focus on Luo but instead turned her attention to Biscuit.

"Why is she here?"
