Chapter 348: Extra Story 13

"The car’s brakes have been tampered with," Helian Feng said, his face grim but his actions calm as he swiftly maneuvered around the cars ahead. "The person who did this was quite covert, possibly using special methods. I didn’t even notice anything was off. Don't worry, darling, the fuel in the car will last at most another hour. Ling Chunann nodded, understanding from Helian Feng’s explanation that in this world, only protagonists, being children of the world, could pull off such a feat.

With Helian Feng's identity now exposed, 098 didn’t need to hide anymore. It swiftly activated its energy to pull up the information. This world had limitations for the two main gods; it was just a regular system, so naturally, it didn't have the concerns about collapsing the world.

Soon, 098 found some useful information. "Host, the female protagonist disappeared from the prison today. I can’t find her current location; she must be hidden by a magic array. But sir, I found that the car was tampered with by Jing Ancheng himself."

As 098 spoke, it transmitted the captured surveillance footage to Ling Chunann.

What started as a playful round turned into an intense session that left Ling Chunann with a sore back and waist, having breakfast in bed the next morning, and only easing up under Helian Feng’s massage in the afternoon.

When they arrived at the hospital, Jing Ancheng was still unconscious in the ICU. Ling Chunann asked the doctor, who said that three ribs were broken, one of which had punctured a lung, and both legs were broken. However, with some time, there was a high chance of full recovery, but his face was completely ruined.

Given the speed at which he had crashed, it was already fortunate he was still alive; Helian Feng hadn’t even taken action yet, and he had already wrecked himself. Ling Chunann couldn’t help but feel a bit bored.

When Jing Ancheng regained consciousness, he felt as if his body had fallen apart, but his mind was clearer than ever. After seeing Jing Ancheng once since that day, Ling Chunann never visited the hospital again. Helian Feng was now guarding against the various male protagonists of this world like guarding against thieves.
