Progress Report / Delay Update - February 26, 2024 (Patreon)

Hey all.

So just another delay update. Decided to just update this post, rather than make a new one.

I've just gotten the latest draft of the audioscape from my sound designer, and it is much closer to a final release now.

Unfortunately, I failed to properly communicate to him how I internally separate the video. Specifically, how I separate the main sex sequence from the montage sex sequence. So when I brought up my intention of having a backing music track over the montage sequence, he interpreted that as a music track over the main sex sequence and the montage sequence (he didn't realize I internally separated them).

I also failed to properly communicate the fact that the version of the video he has is without video transitions, while the montage will have transitions in it to make it more slick and snappy. And so he ended up baking the music directly into the soundscape, which would result in the music being choppy when edited.

Thankfully, both of those are pretty easy fixes - rip the music tracks out, then rebalance the audio mix to compensate. There were also a few minor pieces of audio missing, but the big change is correcting the music being put in the wrong places.

Again, I take full responsibility for that. I forget people can't read minds, and while to me the main sex sequence is very clearly delineated from the montage sex sequence with the narrative break and the B-roll insert, that was obviously not so intuitive to my sound designer.

I have posted a 1-minute preview of the current state of the soundscape over on my Twitter. Hopefully I won't need to make another Delay update. But if I do, then it will be on Friday, March 1. Hopefully the next post will be the actual release.

PREVIOUS DELAY UPDATE - FEBRUARY 23, 2024

Corsair is done on my end. Waiting on sound designer.

I didn't want to make this post because he's been "just one day away" all week. Well, it's been 5 "one day away" now and I only now got the first draft of the audio back. And I had so many notes that Discord immediately turned it into a text file.

It's nothing bad, just a lot of small adjustments. And I apparently forgot to give him a few audio files to work with, so I had to fix that too.

This isn't really a big formal Progress Report, just a delay update. So no picture.

I'll make another Delay Update on Monday if I have to. No normal Progress Reports until this video is out.

Again, the video is completely done on my end. It's been sitting on my hard-drive ready to release for a week now. It just needs the final audio, which is out of my control. And my sound designer is both very busy and very kind, so please don't blame him for this.
