Hello, everyone!

I don't have a whole lot to report this week, but what I do have to report is a pretty important development!

The Claire/Jill video is rendering out in final 4k!

As of this morning, about 8 minutes have been rendered out. Rendering started Sunday evening, and it's now Tuesday afternoon.

My napkin math estimates the render will take anywhere from 5 to 10 days. With 8 of 22.5 minutes rendered across 2 days, that suggests about 6 days for the render.

However, I am going to be out of town this weekend, from May 26 to May 29. Seeing as it's currently May 23, with an estimated 4 more days to render...

The rendering may have to get paused and resumed when I get back.

But we're on course for a release within the first week of June, to be certain!

Most of my attention this past week has been focused on getting Claire/Jill done and ready for render. I haven't even worked on the Life is Strange project, though I do plan to fix that over the next few days while I wait for things to render.

I have put together a few storyboards though! The way this will work is, I will post a short gif of the storyboard, and then immediately below it a link to view the current storyboard video.

With my next major project after Claire/Jill being finally returning to Overbreed Episode 1, I've found it prudent to return my attention to the storyboard for it. I don't remember how far along it was last I shared it (if I shared it at all...), but here is the current state of things.

Overbreed Episode 1 - Storyboard WIP 03 [14:54]

On the subject of Overwatch, I don't think it's much a secret that I've been wanting to do something with DVa for a long while. I've had a particular high-level idea in mind, but the problem has been finding a clean way to execute it.

As of now, I have made six separate attempts to storyboard this idea. Here are the last two. The first one shown here, attempt 5, was made while I was unintentionally staying up for 36 hours (my sleep schedule has been fucked for a while, but it's getting worse to the point where sometimes I just straight can't fall asleep; it is something I am aware of and will be looking into).

I really like what it has, but it's obscenely long and hasn't even gotten in the juicy stuff yet. I won't lie when I say I am invested in Whitesuit as a character.

DVa BDSM Orgy - Storyboard Revision 5 [11:49]

A few days later, I decided to approach the idea from a different angle. Rather than starting with DVa and Mei and working up to the actual bdsm orgy, which is the main focus, I decided to try starting in medias res, and having Mei coming in late to the party.

This gets to the heart of the content much faster. Curse my love of crowds, though. Significantly slows down production time.

DVa BDSM Orgy - Storyboard Revision 6 [3:04]

A quarter the runtime, and already further along than any previous iteration. In medias res has its value.

And then finally, I have been slowly but surely working on my Fumates storyboard. I honestly have no idea what form Fumates would come in. There's a lot of animation, which suggests a video, but there's also a lot of talking, which honestly fits a comic structure better.

To say nothing of the fact this storyboard is 20 minutes so far, and I haven't exhausted all my ideas for the pilot episode yet. And the main focus of the entire premise, which is the relationship between Viv and Sophie, hasn't even been introduced yet. Hell, Sophie as a character hasn't been introduced yet, this has all been just establishing Cass, Viv, and their relationship - which is all background to Viv and Sophie's!

Strap yourselves in for this one, it's a ride.

So yeah.

Expect next week's Progress Report to be a bit anemic, seeing as I'm going to be out of town for nearly half of that week. But hopefully I'll at least have some progress to share on the Life is Strange Epilogue. If no new mechanics (though I am hoping to implement a few!) then at least some story progression.

That's all for now. Until next week, everyone!
