Hello, everyone!

Last week's progress report noted that I had a few stills left to complete, and that - if all went well - I would be knee-deep in building the animated sequences by the time this Progress Report rolled around.

Well, I'm not sure if you're able to deduce it from this post's main image, but I am indeed knee-deep in building the animated sequences.

In fact, I'd argue I'm closer to neck-deep. I have gotten 8 of the 10 animations built, with 3 of them being completely finished and ready to render, and the remaining 5 only needing periphery effort done - scenebuilding, lighting, and in a few cases outfitting.

Since the GIF is just lazily slapped together (though it took me nearly 2 hours to put it together, I really don't want to talk about how unnecessarily stressful that was...), I have attached the full, linear video to this post. You can check out the wips in their full glory by downloading it at the bottom of the post.

If I haven't addressed what all these animated sequences are for, by the way: they excerpts from future episode sequences. If you were to compare the pairings and the order in this gif to the image of the Overbreed announcement post, you'd find a remarkable pattern in that this is a solid extraction of the second and third columns of the first five episodes.

Why not the first column? And why not the last episode? Well, I have to keep a few surprises up my sleeve, to build further intrigue, do I not? Wouldn't be much fun to spoil the entire series in the prologue. After all, this is just a teaser of things to come.

Speaking of narrative mechanisms, Milly's gotten her monologue audio for Mercy, and she is absolutely fantastic - as always. Your opinions on the writing or the particular storytelling device that I used for the prologue may vary, but I am pretty confident you will be very quite impressed with Milly's voice for Mercy.

This is where the majority of my effort this past week has been going. Only other major thing of note is that I am spinning up a new on-stream project, starring the big-tiddy goth girlfriend Miya and guest-starring her new friend Tammy. I would post a picture, but they're not ready for a big reveal yet. If you're desperate, I posted a work-in-progress picture over on my Twitter.

The reason why I bring it up is that this on-stream project is going to completely bypass Patreon, so if you only visit my Patreon to catch my videos, you'll miss this one when it's (eventually) released. It's going to go straight to 2160p public on my website, with a Twitter announcement.

So if you don't follow my Twitter, you really should consider it!

That's all for now. Next progress report, I should be neck-deep in model-work. So many outfits to build... So many outfits...

Until next week, everyone!

I gotta ask what graphics are you using? or it doesn't matter in 3D animation as long as the cpu can handle it.

oh god, can't wait for the full nelson futa mercy on dva

Well, you won't have to wait too long (relatively), seeing as that is Episode 2! You'll still have to wait a while though, since after Episode 1 I am going to work on Blue Star Episode 4, and quite possibly another large video project (maybe Liziverse?) before returning to Overbreed. I have a *LOT* of projects floating about now, and I want to try to keep everything moving along, even if it is just a glacial pace.

So Source Filmmaker is a bit of an oddball, in that in-editor performance is largely GPU bound, but rendering is largely CPU bound. Optimal performance requires fairly high-end hardware on both fronts. For posterity, I'm running a Ryzen 5950X for the CPU, and a RTX 3080 for the GPU. I was amazed to see how much of a render-time increase the 5950X gave over the 3600 (which was a temporary stop-over, and even that gave a huge render-time increase over the i7-4770K I was using previously), and honestly a bit whelmed by how little of an increase the RTX 3080 gave over the GTX 980Ti.

Holy shit you were using a 980Ti to do your animations first?😬 but they always come out pretty good😧 you're a fucking MacGuyver, bro!🤣😂🤣
