So this is going to be really short, because my GPU overclock just crashed my PC and I lost the entire original 5-page post that I spent over 70 minutes writing. And I am really pissed, and really tired, because it's currently 3AM. So bullet-points:

  • Video is comprised of 5 project files / sequences: Void, Store, Sex, Store Room, Exterior. Void is currently rendering out to final 2160p.
  • All the audio is in. Shopkeep audio was easy but not as easy as Silky's. Everything works great.
  • All non-sex dialogue is lip-synced. All sex-scene dialogue is lip-synced. Sex-scene non-dialogue (moans and such) are not.
  • Premiere project has been sent off for sound design. The raw WIP footage used is 18GB, compressed to 100MB for my sound designer.
  • Final project is projected to be 160GB in filesize. With my 10TB NAS and napkin calculations of monthly usage, it is projected to last me 34 months before I need to extend the capacity.
  • Final total runtime of the BAS Liz short is 10:02. Two seconds past 10 minutes, disappointed I couldn't get it to end at 10:00 exactly. This includes all of the runtime-affecting edits, credits, and after-credits sequences.
  • Current projections are that it will take me 11 days total to get everything ready for render. This puts us perfectly on course for a November 15 release. Don't hold this date as gospel truth, things can happen (like a GPU overclock crashing a PC and losing hours of work... I literally wrote "computers catch fire" and crashed 3 minutes later...). I will let you all know if anything comes up.
  • With any luck, next week's progress report will be reporting that the Void, Store, Store Room, and Exterior sequences are all rendered out to final 2160p, leaving just the Sex sequence.
  • I really need to come up with a name for the short. "The BAS Liz Short" is fine for development, but it's not the sexiest title to release the video publicly under.

That's all for now. Don't overclock your GPUs, kids. It's just not worth the stress.

My Lord, I feel your pain! I use an iMac for most of my rendering with nVidia 1080 eGPU that I love because it literally speeds my renders in DAZ by a factor of 10 to 20 times. BUT every time Apple does a system 'upgrade' it usually locks out my eGPU and I have to wait for nVidia to do its own upgrade. Frustrating as hell!
