Miranda Versus the Galaxy - 1080p Short (9:52 runtime) (Patreon)

I am SO SORRY this took so long to get released.

As the disclaimer at the beginning of the video says, this project was just too much for me to animate all by myself. I took an additional week to get the animation to its current unfinished-but-at-least-presentable state.

Then my sound designer had a slew of problems, ranging from partial hard-drive failure (nothing critical was lost though, either to himself or to this project) to his audio interface jack breaking.

On top of that, I also ran an experiment of letting him also be the video editor - and that didn't go so well. I failed to clearly communicate what I needed him to do, and so he ended up editing the entire video but cut the wrong way - and with the final renders injected, the audio was completely off-sync. So he had to edit the entire video again, this time with me giving him the final video cut, rather than letting him do the cutting.

So here we are, almost 3 weeks past the projected release date. Again, I apologize profusely.

Similarly, I apologize for the poor quality of the animation in this video. Almost none of the animation is 100% finished, though good swaths of it are >90%. There are a few spots that are less than 80% finished, though. And those are the ones I really apologize for.

I had big ambitions for this project. Too big, it turns out.

I won't be making any shorts this ambitious until I can find another animator to hire and share the work with me. The Longs, such as Blue Star or the current film Hiveship, are unaffected by this. They will take as long as they need to get done to a level of quality I am satisfied with, and I will not compromise my vision with them.
