Going to do this one first, just because there's not a lot to it. InsideIncognita has been working hard these past few days to get the entirety of Liara's dub for the 17ish-minute sex scene done.

Here is a screenshot showing that she has finished recording the first pass of sex sounds for the whole sequence:

She is now working on a second pass of recording, for the given-during-sex dialogue, as well as re-recording any segments that fell out of sync.

The way things are going, it looks like September will see me finally installing the audio and making a huge step toward completing the damn project. Finally.

It is August 1, and that means that I officially begin production on this month's short. But what is this month's short, exactly?

Those who have been active on my Discord over the past few weeks (or months, really) probably already know. But now, it is publicly announced: August's project is the first episode of a long-form series, Down the Rabbit.Hole (referred to as simply Rabbit.Hole), following everyone's sassy Korean Mary Sue.

Yes, that's right. LordAardvark, long-time vocal critic of Overwatch (both the porn and the game), is doing an Overwatch project. And not just a one-off, either, but a long-form series.

Before the Doomsayers begin proselytizing the beginning of the end, and the haters begin snickering amongst themselves, though, I want to make one thing perfectly clear: This is NOT a love-letter to Overwatch. Quite the opposite.

This entire series is a piss-take. It's a piss-take on D.Va's hilariously dumb background (even if Blizzard are trying to retcon it, I won't let them forget it), on Blizzard's obsession with lootboxes and the cancer they've become in the AAA gaming space, on mobile games and their absolute lack of shame in manipulating and exploiting vulnerable people, on "whales" that spend exorbitant amounts of money in microtransactions, and on the concept of microtransactions in general and the concept of spending actual money on worthless digital cosmetics. It's also a minor piss-take on other things, including the intro sequence being a piss-take on anime intros.

Series Premise:

D.Va is taking a break from her role in Overwatch to tour the United States, as the former e-sports champion + movie star + celebrity streamer + 19-yr-old MEKA pilot + Overwatch Hero she is (and yes, none of that is an exaggeration, that really is her backstory). Early in her tour, she downloads a popular new app that takes advantage of common phones' holographic projectors (because this is a future where sentient robots nearly took over the world; I don't think hologram phones is too much a stretch here) to build 3d avatars of users. In her impatience to play with her new app, though, she unknowingly downloaded a hot new mobile game that rewards sex acts with cosmetics for the aforementioned 3d avatars.

After she unwittingly satisfies the game's sexual curiosity and unlocks a new slootbox, containing an outfit for her avatar, though, it's all game over: she's positively hooked, and finds herself exerting more and more effort in the chase for that sweet, sweet digital swag. What starts out as innocent time-killing quickly devolves into a spiral of sin and debauchery, as D.Va convinces the game's developer, Jizzard Interactive, the personal value she puts to their cosmetic rewards: her sexual dignity.

As such, this series invites the viewers to take a front-row seat and watch as D.Va plunges (you guys ready for this?) down the rabbit hole.

Some Q&A:

Who is voicing D.Va? Both InsideIncognita (Liara, Elizabeth) and SilkyMilk (Jill) auditioned for the role, and both Incognita and I agree that Silky fits the role perfectly. As such, SilkyMilk will be voicing D.Va in this series.

Will she speak English or Korean? While I can't definitively promise this, the plan is for D.Va to speak Korean when she is talking to herself, or during the height of sexual satisfaction. When she is speaking to other people, she will be speaking in that semi-broken English she's known for. I am hoping to find a native Korean speaker to help me with translations and to help Silky with voice coaching, toward this end. If the Korean proves too complicated, it will be dumped. I'd rather not dump it, but if it's between dumping Korean or dumping the project, then the Korean is what will go.

Another Series? What About Blue Star? Or Phazon? So, Blue Star is the series I am working on. As Episodes 1 and 2 showed, and especially Episode 3 is showing, I am not pulling any punches with that series. By contract, Phazon is a series of intentionally and specifically short pieces. Similarly, Rabbit.Hole will be a series of shorts. Each episode is expected to be 3-to-5 minutes in length, not counting the introduction sequence.

How long is the series expected to be? Long. Very, very long. Like, "if I do 2 episodes a year, it'll take 15 years to finish this series" long. Finding a co-animator to focus on this series would be great. I don't expect it to happen, but gosh, it'd be great.

How written out is this series? Ordagon and I made a physical roadmap for her tour. We also sat down and designed the entire mobile game and how exactly it'd function. And I wrote a program to automatically generate a graphical progression tree based on all of the possible sex acts this series could cover. Of which, there are 61 potential sex acts. Not all of them will be pursued, but the goal is to cover 30-to-50 of them. So yeah. You could say it's pretty written out.

How long has this series been worked on, planning-wise? Brainstorming for this project began on Christmas morning, 2017. It has since gone through a few iterations, but a project focusing on D.Va whoring herself out for vidya gaemz has been in the works, in some form or another, for just over 7 months now.

What D.Va model are you using? It's one I built myself, on that same Christmas day. It uses my RE0 Rebecca Chambers body as a base, since I found that D.Va's canon hips are remarkably similar in size to Rebecca's wide hips. Naturally, I exaggerated how bubbly D.Va's butt is a bit, but other than that, Rebecca's body is surprisingly close to D.Va's canon build. In fact, Rebecca's breasts are slightly smaller than D.Va's canon breasts.

Will you release that D.Va model? Yes. When Episode 1 of this series releases (please, universe, let that be at the end of the month, as is planned... please...), I will do another content dump for the episode. Everything seen in the episode will be released, and that includes all of the content seen in the introduction sequence. Due to D.Va sharing a body with Rebecca, that means all of D.Va's outfits will work on Rebecca, and all of Rebecca's outfits will work on D.Va.

What is Episode 1 about? Episode 1 is, frankly, a bit on the slow side. It has to set up the premise and get the ball rolling, keeping D.Va at a relatively high moral point, so that her imminent slide into sin and debauchery is all the sweeter. This is actually why I made the intro sequence - to sort of serve as a visual semaphore for where I plan for this series to go, and to convince people to not convince it outright based off the first episode alone. More explicitly, Episode 1 will be about setting up the mobile game and D.Va's addiction to it, through means of her masturbating excessively. Sorry, no guys get to go down her rabbit hole this episode.

Introduction song vocals? Yep! You may have noticed the introduction sequence is silent right now. That is because Incognita and I have aspirations for an anime-esque introduction song for it (remember, piss-take), but haven't had the time to figure it out yet. The music situation will hopefully be resolved in the first 10 or so days of August. On that note, the intro isn't quite final - I think I am going to replace the list sequence with something less disconnected. I just ran out of time to get this done by today.

When will the first episode release? Universe willing, it will be on Patreon early access no later than Thursday, August 30. I can't promise that, but fuck me, that's the hope. Tumblr public access will be 5 days later, as always.
