It fucking breaks my heart to announce this, especially since I’ve putting in 12-hour days for the past week, doing everything in my power to release this today.

But, after 5 hours of fruitless effort, I simply came to the conclusion that I cannot sound design this thing worth a damn.

I am extremely proud of the animation in this project, but I don’t want to mar it with subpar sound design. I want a project that I can be proud of it, and only the very best I can offer to you all.

The animation is 100% done. The only thing holding it back is sound design. And that is why I have decided to at least post the previews that were going to going with the release. Because what’s holding back production isn’t related to the previews, in any way.

I have tapped some real talent for assisting me on this, but, understandably, they can’t fit this project in last minute. I’ve contacted several great sound designers, from popular individuals who add sound to others’ animations, to professional sound designers. I have also contacted a composer for making a unique soundtrack for the project, and I also have a few prospective artists tapped for recording unique Foley / sound effects for the project.

I’m hearing back estimates of a week for all of this work to get done, which is understandable given the last-minute nature of it all, combined with how large a project it is.

However, I am not going to give any more release dates on this. It’ll be done when it’s done, and I won’t answer any questions on it.

And that goes for everything from now on:

The entire point of this new work schedule is so I can release things on time. But, every time, things come up. I now have the Liz video that’s 4 months overdue because things came up with my Liz voice actor’s life; Leliana’s video is 2 months overdue because things came up with my Leliana voice actor’s life (NOT the same person, mind you!); and now Jill is overdue because it turns out that, despite all the things I can do, I can’t sound design.

I mean, this project is over five minutes of animation, done in less than 25 days (30 days for the work, minus 5 that were wasted pursuing endeavors that went nowhere). I absolutely can animate these shorts in a month - but it’s all of the things beyond animating, and mostly things out of my control, that just keep setting things back.

So, I will never give a release date for anything in the future. Everything is done when it’s done. Any questions about when something will be released, will be ignored. This is not negotiable.
