Blue Star Episode 3 Update (Patreon)

So I’ve had people pepper me with questions about BSE3′s progress for the past few days, and I have been pointedly ignoring them, fully intending to make this post when the time is right. And that time is now.

If you follow my Twitter, my Patreon, or even this blog closely, then you’re probably aware of what I’ve been working on this past week: a savage rewrite of the Blue Star Episode 3 script.

As of now, all of the rewriting has been implemented in the SFM scenes themselves, with the exception of Liara’s new lines for the intro and her lines for the post-sex scene, neither of which Incognita has had a chance to record.

Here is a breakdown of what the rewrite means from a runtime perspective:

• Introduction: Went from 230 seconds, to 175 seconds. Specifically, the main dialogue exchange went from 160 seconds to 105, with 55 seconds of unnecessary dialogue removed. With Liara’s lines added, I expect it to be about 180 seconds.
  
  
• Post-Sex: Went from ~65 seconds down to 60 seconds (was the least bloated scene of the whole project). With Liara’s lines added, I expect it to be about 80 seconds.
  
  
• After-Credits: Went from ~90 seconds down to 60 seconds. All of the audio is recorded for this scene, so it’s effectively done in terms of drafting.

In total, about 90 seconds, or a minute and a half, of unnecessary dialogue was cut. Taking into account Liara’s to-be-recorded lines, the Introduction had about 22% of its dialogue cut, the post-sex 8%, and the after-credits about 33%.

You may notice that the sex scene has received no cuts. That is entirely intentional. With the non-sex scenes reduced in runtime by about 25%, it makes the sex:non-sex ratio even higher, which is something that I should strive for, seeing as it is a porn series.

This post marks the conclusion of the non-sex drafting phase, and on Sunday I will resume working on the sex scene itself. As a quick update on that, Phase 1 of the sex-scene is complete, Phase 2 is about half done, and Phase 3 has yet to be started.

I’m not going to give any ETAs on completion, because we all know I am terrible with them. But we’re getting close, now. We’re getting close indeed.Once Phase 3 is drafted, I’d say the episode is about 85% done, animation-wise.

Sorry I don’t have anything juicier to share with you all. Unfortunately there’s a lot of behind-the-curtains stuff, technical things, and frankly boring parts, that go into making a project like this. And, like everything else, those things take time.
