One of my favourite episodes. I just watched the first 3 episodes of the new season too and man, you're in for a treat. It gets better and better as it goes on.

David Lyons

That was indeed all three from the movie, but also the gag with the council is that in this world, all actors who have played vampires in media are secretly real vampires! You know Wesley from Blade, Danny Trejo was in From Dusk Till Dawn, Paul Reubens was in the Buffy movie, Evan Rachel Wood was in True Blood and Tilda Swinton was in Only Lovers Left Alive. They also name dropped Rob, Keifer, Tom & Brad, referencing the lead actors from Twilight, The Lost Boys and Interview with the Vampire. (If Tay likes vampire movies, she would love this episode!) And yeah, Kristen Schaal is great, at the time I first saw this I mainly knew her as voicing Mabel from Gravity Falls :)

It's silly now, because "putting it behind him" is a good context clue, but could not for the life of me figure out which Rob they meant. Cheers sir.

D'you think? I was a bit disappointed by some of the jokes from last season, and how cheesy they were. It's still a good show and the cast is still gold dust, but the quality of the writing felt lilke it took a nosedive last season, especially in certain episodes. SPOILER ALERT The episode where they attend an interview with a headmaster of a chi chi private school, and then there's a montage sequence where they keep hypnotising him and trying different approaches to currying favour with him...that bit was embarrassingly bad. It's meant to be a documentary(isn't it? or have they shelved that bit and I just didn't notice?), and it's like the writers just flat out forgot that part, and inserted a stupid sitcom montage with funny music. I thought the first two episodes of this season, while still enjoyable, were indicative of how 'big' the humour has gotten, with their neighbour and his friends(the Ocean's Twelve-obsessed guy and his best buds) apparently going from being normal guys in earlier episodes to being complete lunatics who go around stealing police cars and firing guns in the air, and hog tying actual cops. I know it's petty to complain about such an enjoyable show, with such interesting characters - and I totally admit that roblox-obsessed tween-colin-robinson made me laugh a lot, as did that whole insane storyline from last season, so it's not like it was a total bust. But I hope this new season picks up a bit.

Kristen Schaal is fantastic. First thing I ever saw her in was Flight of the Concords (which Josh definitely needs to watch at some point). Then it was her voicing Louise in Bob's Burgers. Just recently watched Gravity Falls for the first time (despite being nearly 30) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I actually forgot I was essentially watching a kids show as it's so well written and genuinely dark at times.
