I watched this with commentary when it was released on DVD - Coogan and Iannucci were trying to remember why on earth they wanted to do the '1936 Berlin Olympics' re-enactment, then when Alan said "...on this pleasant summer's day in Nazi Germany" they immediately said "That's why!" :)

Josh

I was looking forward to this, watching for the first time and loving it!

I just want to say, I honestly don't care that these are the shorter versions, mainly because they're the ones I'm familiar with! I bought the DVD a while back and these are the versions on it. It's a shame someone sent you a rude message about that.

Anonymous

You’ll also know Patrick Marber as Peter O’Hanrahanhanran (however you spell it)…the hapless news reporter from The Day Today.

Manly Stump

That's weird, I have the DVDs as well and these definitely aren't the versions on mine!

TheHigh

you need to do a better job at being psychic 😂 , hope you well , also loving more of Alan! p.s J.A.M

Keith Pratt

The versions you're watching is how they were originally broadcast on TV. There must've been a DVD release that added the deleted scenes back in, instead of having them separately as a special feature.

VEGGIE GAMER

Haha WOW that comment you got about 'doing a better job' of getting the full episodes was rude! XD WE need to do a better job at letting you know before you start a series that there are full and edited versions! I admit I had no idea there were edited down versions until your reactions, but how the heck is that your fault? XD Anyway, about to watch now! :)

VEGGIE GAMER

Damn it.. yeah they edited out the Roger Moore pay off.. basically Moore threatened to sue Alan if he didn't put out an apology at the start of the show. It is really jarring as it is just as Alan is hyping up the show, then has to read a written statement about how he is guilty of gross misconduct. Here it is if you are interested (not for a reaction, just to fill in the blanks XD) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BEv3U5bx8M&ab_channel=comedyklips

I was mistaken! I did indeed buy the DVD's but that was just so I had them in my collection, I didn't watch every episode, so I didn't notice they were the "full" versions. I am however much more familiar with the cut down versions, I think I watched them on netflix.

MrPhil_K

You may notice that the guests in each episode are played by the same actors, especially Rebecca Front, Patrick Marber and David Schneider

LoL I'll give you a rude episode right up your...! haha Josh, you must continue with Partridge and Coogan. Mid Morning Matters is my favourite.

Anonymous

Also that guy is David Schneider. You have seen him in 'I'm Alan Partridge' Season 1 he was the Tony Hayers from the BBC, that Alan kept dreaming of giving a lap dance to. LoL He's been in a bunch of stuff. He was one of the scientists in the opening scene of 28 days later, as well.

I really love MMM too. Partridge's radio stuff is my favourite material by far. Also, the audio books and podcasts are absolutely brilliant too. Highly recommended. I think MMM might be a bit obscure for some to vote for though, but it's made it on to some of the polls here so hopefully there's a chance. There's also the one off documentaries, Alan Partidge's Welcome to the Places of My Life and Scissored Isle. There's even more too!

Farhad_S

The dermatologist is probably most familiar to you as Tony Hayers from BBC, who has lunch with Alan trying to convince him to give him another series. Ends with Alan asking him to 'Smell my cheese' and running out of the restaurant. He also played Tony LeMesmer, the hypnotist who throws knives at Alan in a previous episode.

TheHigh

fantastic actors imo , great in brass eye and more!

Keith Pratt

@Phil I think MMM will definitely win at some point. In the last poll that The Young Ones won, it came 4th with 101 votes.
