Spoiler Free:  This was a really funny cringe episode. My cringe meter may be out of wack but this episode felt far more cringe than the last lol.

Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!    Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!!

Dude the long gaps of uncomfortable awkwardness is too much lol. Brent already makes every situation almost unbearable to watch but it seemed cranked up in this episode. The long moments of weird awkwardness felt similar to some of the moments in Extras when they would just make you marinate in the cringe. The only difference to me is they don't keep as many long silent moments as Extras. Brent is usually continually saying or doing something to make it worse. When he was trying to figure out how to present himself to the girl during the interview and landed on that goofy I want to be sexy pose, I thought dude why lol. I love how Gareth talk all of that mess and still went home with the sex couple. This was a really good episode I enjoyed it a lot. There were a lot of funny, creepy, cringe moments in the episode it was great.

Thanks for watching folks !!! Hopefully, you all are happy, safe, and healthy !!

His face in the side car always makes me laugh 😂

which character do u prefer so far partridge or brent.

David Lyons

Keith (the guy in glasses) is a man of few words, but he definitely makes them count! By the way, just as a minor correction to when you said Gareth "isn't in the military any more", he's in the Territorial Army (now known as Army Reserve) so while he has done basic training he hasn't actually served in the field as part of the regular army (hence Tim correcting him whenever he says he's in the army)!

lemmy101

I imagine Tim got a lot more shit than was shown about asking Dawn out but totally believable re: her not having a 'wish we could be friends again like before' honest open chat, and instead trying to go along with that 'should go out for that drink together' conversation pretending she believed he was talking about a 'double date' drink out, it's SO British. This is why I absolutely love the UK Office and was a little.... critical of the US one. The 'Tim' and 'Dawn' story? Jim and Pam? Was so 'normal TV showish' where there was a lot of open conversations about feelings and stuff I didn't buy it. It may be how it is in the US but in this country we're repressed and embarassed and self-loathing and keep all that stuff bottled up haha. Tim and Dawn are the emotional core of this show for me as its the only two people you don't cringe and want to see fail all the time, and its done so subtley because like they have a documentary team there and are awkward and quiet about it and all you get are the subtle signs that its awkward for them and trying to make people you like feel better out of polite ignoring of things that embarass you both. Their relationship is SO believable.

Yeah Territorial Army is like something that at least used to get mocked a lot in this country in the sense that its a stereotype that if someone's in the Territorial Army they never shut up about it and bring it up as soon as you meet them, and that its like a weekend 'play as a soldier' thing, which is probably grossly unfair as I'm sure its hard, but its funny anyway.

David Lyons

Since the characters are aware they are being filmed for a documentary I'd imagine they'd want to discuss it on camera even less!

Hey Josh, I mentioned this a few weeks ago but I wanted to make another recommendation for 'The Vicar of Dibley', I definitely reckon it should be added to the poll. Created by Richard Curtis who also created Mr. Bean, Blackadder, and lots of British romcoms like Love Actually and Four Weddings & a Funeral. The two main characters have a similar dynamic to Ted and Dougal, and there's a whole bunch of other great characters too. Roger Lloyd-Pack (Trigger from Only Fools & Horses) is in it as well.

I crease up every time I see Gareth going past in the sidecar 😂😂😂

Saul

The look on Gareth's face at the end - that look of confusion and terror - just kills me every time.

Andrew

This is brilliant! I love the Office and it is always funny,no matter how many times I rewatch, but seeing and laughing at how uncomfortable David and Gareth make you, adds a whole new layer to my enjoyment this time around Happy Thanksgiving Josh and enjoy all the food and drink

The woman playing the "new girl" was actually a really good actress now that I watch this again, anyone agree? It's subtle but she seems very real, especially her reaction to Brent kicking the ball towards her, then of course the accidental headbutt. Things like that are probably hard to get right in a mockumentary format. I think that's a testament to the detail in this show though, most of the people in The Office actually have very small roles, but you totally believe their performances.

Lee

Speaking of Blackadder, I think that would be a good one for Josh to react to. Go from series 1 onwards. Series 1 is the weakest but does have some funny moments in it, then it gets a lot better. Series 4 is utterly superb.

Austin Stratton

Josh, add David Brent: Life On The Road to your list of movies.. I'm sure you've already been told but it follows on from the end of The Office as David tries to make it big in the music industry.. you've seen the Reggae clip with him and Doc Brown I think.. but make sure you wait till the end of season 2

Has anybody recommended anything from the comedy troupe The League Of Gentlemen yet? Besides their initial League Of Gentlemen show they have also wrote/starred in Inside Number 9 (think a very British Twilight Zone- always a twist in the tale-spoilers online abound!) and Psychoville- a character based dark comedy whodunnit which for my money is one of the best things I have ever seen on TV (once again be wary of spoilers online)

Kieran B

Yeah they’ve been recommend a few times, and Josh has done some League clip reactions on YT. Love Inside No 9, some of the best TV writing ever, wouldn’t always be a laugh a minute and sometimes almost none but it would be a different kind of reaction potentially

So what are we going to have instead of father Ted then I wonder

Gary Tamblyn

Here’s a couple to add to your poll. Graham Lineham, writer of IT Crowd and Father Ted also co-wrote Count Arthur Strong, which has some good episodes. Also the ‘creepy’ looking guy on the office (Gareth) played by Mackenzie Crook wrote and starred in a really good sit-com a couple of years ago called The Detectorists. Love the Chanel Josh, you do an excellent job. Really look forward to receiving notifications of new vids. :-)

Since people seem to be suggesting new shows: Black Books! From the IT Crowd and Father Ted guy.

Just to let you know, Gareth is in the Territorial/Reserve Army. People with regular jobs who voluntarily do training on weekends, with old hand-me-down equipment. Bit of a joke to the real military. That's why it's funny when he bangs on about his military training.
