Spoiler Free:  This was a really funny episode I enjoyed it a lot.

Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!    Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!!

This was great because I hate meeting so much lol. I said this before at the end of one of my previous videos. Companies always want to do goofy team-building exercises, customer service challenges, etc and I have never met anyone who said I really enjoyed that meeting lol. Everyone always says what a waste of time that could have been summed up in a one-paragraph email or a 5-minute conversation. Meetings seem to be universally hated and ineffective yet companies still insist on having them. When he started playing guitar I thought this dude is ridiculous. Sucked when Tim took a shot asking Dawn out and she was back with her dude. I am curious how things are going to turn out with Tim, we are only 4 episodes in and he put in his notice. This was a really good episode, I would say the best so far. I look forward to checking out the rest.

Thanks for watching folks !!! Hopefully, you all are happy, safe, and healthy !!

Oh yeah! I think this ep is where the UK Office begins to super pop! Can't wait to watch!

This is possibly my favourite episode of any TV show, it’s really great, can’t wait to watch your reaction! Perfectly captures the pointlessness of these awful staff training days we go through from time to time 😂

Unbelievable episode this mate. The way Gareth is getting into the music with his little face and head movements like he’s listening to the best thing he’s ever heard. I THINK THERES BEEN A RAPE UP THERE!!

Been a while since I watched The Office, now seeing them consecutively again I remember this is a really great episode, and I understand what people mean when they said it's a "decider" in terms of whether people will really enjoy the series or not. I don't think it's the best episode, but it's probably the first standout episode. Although not always "laugh out loud" The Office really is such a well put together piece of work, it's very impressive that Ricky and Steve managed to pull it off, it being their first major work. Honestly I think I prefer Extras, but it's very close! maybe with this rewatch (and the fact that I now work in an office and can relate more) I'll change my mind.

Daryl

Ricky had a go at being a pop star in the 80's. I love that he channels this previous aspiration through his Brent character. I brought the album that accompanied his David Brent film which is mostly compromised of the songs featured in this episode.

The funniest part for me is that Brent is actually quite good haha

Michael Harrop

This is where Brent as a character starts to make sense, hes a frustrated entertainer who missed his shot. He sees this documentary as his way back into doing what he loves. The problem is hes just not that good, what I like about how they portray him as a singer and songwriter though is that hes fine, hes not terrible. Most comedies would make the songs obviously shit, or the lyrics deliberately funny. But Brent is taking this seriously, why would he write comedy songs. It all adds to the realism of the show as an actual documentary.

I used to work with a female boss just like Brent when it came to team training. It was the most dreaded time as she totally took over in the most embarrassing, ignorant, disrespectful and cringeworthy way. You just wanted to shrivel up and fade away on training days! This is one of my fave office episodes, despite it bringing back memories of intense trauma !!!😂😂😂😶

You need to check out Learn Guitar with David Brent. Short videos but hilarious. They are all on Ricky's YouTube page.

Andrew

I think you should take motivation from this episode Josh,go in to work next week and call an immediate team-building meeting and exercise for the staff and follow the steps Brent took, take in a guitar, sing those songs and really lift the spirit and morale of the troops for the final weeks of the year Make sure and record it and upload the video on here please

Steve King

Keith is one of my favourite characters, he probably only has about 5 minutes total screen time over the 2 series but he's comedy gold in the short snippets he features in. He's so relatable to anyone who's in or been a job they hate and are just doing to pay the bills but unlike him we have/had to pretend to be enthusiastic...Keith is how we wish we could have been.

Danny

When you watch The Office and see how David Brent behaves and you listen to the XFM shows, you can see the David Brent character is not much different to how Ricky actually is

Kieran

Fantastic episode, and in my opinion the one where The Office's true greatness began to be revealed. The Tim and Dawn storyline starts to blossom, and the true nature of David Brent's desperation ebbs out more and more. How Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant got us to care so much about so many of these characters across just 14 episodes is quite mind-blowing!

Michael

I think david brent is what ricky would be if he had no filter haha. I think like anyone creating a character they put a bit of themselves in it

Michael

In case you didn't know, Josh, ricky was something of a small time pop star in the 80's. just type ricky gervais 80s on youtube and you'll see him performing haha. One of his songs was a hit in the Philippines and is still known there as a old school classic

Steve King

Another fun fact, the song Brent made up was later used on an advert for Freeview (basically the modern day version of what was known as 'terrestrial television', ergo not satellite/cable paid models) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WseNj6Gc5pY

Hilarious how cocky and sure of himself he is when Gareth is asking if he needs a manager, hold on man, probably lay some drum and bass shit on em? shoot...

AfterWorkReactions

Thanks for the info bud. I think Ricky did a great job with his character development on this show especially.

LOL this was a really good one. Gareth reminds me of someone I have worked with before so much it's hilarious.

AfterWorkReactions

This was a good episode for me, I thought you get to know the characters more and the story seems to pick up a bit more than the previous episodes. Thanks bud!

just missed the Rod Stewart-Stereophonics track at the end there with the credits, I didn't know he did a cover

The office grows on you, and I feel like you found this way more funny than the previous episodes, which is the same with most series. I gotta say I love your reactions bro, I love rewatching classics and you're reaction videos i just love :)
