JCP wraps up its third quarter of 1985 with huge shows, kicking off the month with the first ever NWA Battle of the Belts! Several cross-promoted shows take place, including the massive AWA Superclash 85 show in Chicago, the Bluegrass Spectacular in Lexington,  and wrapping up the month with a huge Great American Bash tour show in Memphis at the Mid South Coliseum with a Lawler vs. Flair title match.

The Road Warriors have arrived to be a more permanent fixture in JCP. The crowds are loving the Rock N' Roll & Midnight Express, while the Russians are the perfect foils.

September closes with what some describe as the best & hottest angle in JCP history. In the home-stretch on the build to Starrcade, is this the greatest time in Jim Crockett Promotions history?

Man something David said got me thinking. He said if Dusty and Magnum ever wrestled Dusty would’ve been the heel. What if Magnum doesn’t have the wreck, could Dusty made a heel turn on TA and became the 80’s version of the Hogan 96 heel turn! Can imagine Dusty being a heel from say late 86 till whenever. Very intriguing to me. It could’ve catapulted business in 87.
