I'm a lapsed fan. I gave up in 2015ish was boring and the same thing over n over. Hearing bout Vince leaving is 100% why I started tuning back in on a constant basis. My dad as well and he can barley work a phone and social media. The story of Vince leaving was HUGE I think Eric is down playing how global outside of wrestling Twitter it really was

I definitely got complacent with wrestling in recent years, and certainly my cousin who I grew up with but we started watching the shows again when SummerSlam rolled around last year due to the buzz and excitement that the product would improve and we haven’t missed a PLE since. my cousin isn’t into podcasts, or consuming wrestling content like I do outside of watching the shows on TV, but he hundred percent for was intrigued when Vince “retired.” it definitely was big news even outside the wrestling “bubble.”

Maybe Eric has inside info we don’t know of how much Vince is still “in charge”. But Eric wants to be an expert but not watch anything. He judges off the Twitter impressions and what clips are circulated. He is halfway in and halfway out in the wrestling bubble. He’ll start to comment on different angles or matches and then he’ll state but I haven’t watched it. And like you and Eric, I’m a lapsed fan since 2014 and I couldn’t watch the wrestling now so I completely understand why he can’t jump in and watch everything to base his own opinions. Like Ron said on the post above a lot of views and takes are parroted from Twitter buzz and what others think and he is gaining his opinion basically blind. I remember when Vince announced the merger and he had his sit down interview with Ary, the UFC owner, and Eric had a lot of thoughts and opinions on the merger but didn’t watch the interview to actually see what they were saying. If you’re going to comment on a HUGE story like that you have to watch that and any other factual news or other clips to have a well rounded opinion on the situation. But he didn’t. That’s why I say he’s halfway in halfway out and just wants his opinion shared with minimal effort. That’s why I never got into this show. Maybe it’s changed but after the merger show I was shocked he had never watched the interview with the co CEO’s or whatever titles they have after Eric had speculated on the sale for a long time and then it happens and he didn’t even bother to watch the interview , of all interviews, on the sale and merger of the biggest topic of this show for months. Didn’t make any sense.
