In response to a question at the end of the show about the Mountie not being recognized as previously being Jacques Rougeau, on the Mountie's debut match it is mentioned on commentary that he is Jacques Rougeau. WWF often did mention the prior name to a new character when they debuted and then would move on and not refer to the previous name.

I thought that too. I was pretty sure they mentioned Jacque’s name a couple of times when he first started and then went forward. I don’t have a problem with that.
