We’re moving right back into our series covering Global Force Wrestling, the formation of it, the plans and more. We covered the beginning back last month so check it out in the archives.

We left off discussing Hermie Sadler and how important he was to the project.

What is your relationship with Dixie at this point in time? Non-existent?

Where is your Dad at in this process? Did you discuss starting this company with him?

Were there TNA talent reaching out to you looking to come into the company? It’s reported in the Observer there were a lot of questions about TNA at the time and ROH. How often were you getting contacted?

Was there someone that reached out to you about GFW that today - people would be shocked about?

It’s reported in late May that Simon Inoki reached out to you - regarding GFW, booking Americans, was that your first conversation with New Japan?

What can you tell us about what the plans were between you & New Japan in the first call?

The relationship between Spike & TNA is eroding by the day - and it’s reported in the Observer that your deal to exit TNA included a clause that stated you couldn’t go on TV with Spike. Is that true?

Are you in connection with Spike at all during the summer?

The WWE has a massive amount of cuts of talent with a new TV deal signed being less than expected. The talent cut are Aksana, Evan Bourne (the now Matt Sydal), Camacho, Brodus Clay (the now Tyrus), Curt Hawkins, Teddy Long, Drew McIntyre, and Yoshi Tatsu. It’s a two fold question - with WWE having a TV deal come up short of their expectation does that worry you about getting TV?

Second - as an influx of talent comes into the market - are you offering anyone contracts before they sign up with anyone else?

At the same time…the Observer reports this:

“Regarding Global Force Wrestling, Toby Keith is not believed to have any involvement in funding the company. When the idea started, Keith was to be the primary backer after Keith & Jeff Jarrett pulled out of negotiations to purchase TNA. Jarrett does have a backer through a connection with Hermie Sadler of NASCAR fame, which is why Sadler’s name has been mentioned so much with the company. But we’re about six months since Jarrett left TNA and it was clear he was starting a company. There have been no significant announcements past tie-ups with New Japan and AAA. There is definitely talent out there to have a great in-ring product, but whether there are the few key guys with established big names needed at the beginning is the question. But the biggest question is can they land a paying national TV deal, because ultimately, everything revolves around that question. The idea was that the promotion would start out as reality show with Jeff and Karen Jarrett building the company and on the road every week scouting for talent, and that would start building the roster to lead to the first show. But there has been no announcement of a reality show deal.”

Who was the backer involved with NASCAR?

When did the talk of Toby end - was he ever involved in discussions about joining GFW in any role?

You’re in Mexico working for AAA building to TripleMania and your hair match which we’ve covered in the archives on our AAA episodes so be sure to check them out. Jeff - you’re doing a lot of hustling at this point…are you just looking to expand the GFW brand as much as possible?

What did you think GFW was going to be at this point in early July of 2014?

There’s a lot of speculation over Kurt Angle’s status in TNA at the time and that if Kurt was available - he’d be your #1 pick to build a promotion around. With everything that had happened in the past - is that just speculation?

It comes out that Vince Russo accidentally emails Mike Johnson of PWInsider his production notes that he’s been supplying to TNA by accident.

So much to unpack so let’s start with this:

Did you hear about this? Was it a well known secret in wrestling that Vince was still working for TNA?

Do you think Russo did it on purpose?

Do you think - or do you know - if this was the final straw that broke the camels back between TNA & Spike?

Well Dixie takes a…shot at you in public. From the Torch

Dixie Carter, when asked if she had any concern about Jeff Jarrett’s mysterious Global Force Wrestling, she fired back: “Not at all. Not even a bit. Don’t know what it is, don’t understand it, and don’t need to.”

The hard feelings after the personal fallout between Dixie and TNA’s co-founder Jeff Jarrett seemed to surface in her tone there.”

She was bitter wasn’t she?

Now the moment we’ve all been waiting for - Jeff you’re in Japan for New Japan’s G-1 Climax.

This is all part of the deal with New Japan and it’s you & Scott D’Amore. What was Scott’s role in GFW?

When did he come aboard?

Why Scott at the time?

During the show you come out with Scott and sign the agreement between GFW and New Japan. Naoki Sugabayashi signs for New Japan and you take the mic and address the crowd. You thank the fans of New Japan for their support of GFW and wrestling and then the photo ops take place. What was the deal between New Japan & GFW really?

Right after that - the announcement is made for WrestleKingdom 9 at the Tokyo Dome on January 4th, 2015. Just a coincidence right?

Hiroshi Tanahashi defeats AJ Styles - at the time IWGP Champion - for third place in the G-1 Climax. AJ - the leader of the Bullet Club - has the Club attack Tanahashi to lead to a Styles Clash. All of a sudden you show up with Damore and clear the ring. You & Tanahashi have the Bullet Club at bay while Scott has issues getting the guitar case open.

He finally does - and the guitar says Bullet Club…and you smash it over the head of the Ace of New Japan and here you are - part of another stable!

Jeff - who’s idea was it? What did you think of it? What was it like working with AJ again?

Chat me up!

From the Observer: “Fans booed the angle a lot. Whether that’s good or bad, time will tell. The announcers tried to push the idea that Jarrett is an American wrestling legend, but New Japan fans didn’t care about him. When he came out for his contract signing, several different reports we got stated that people rushed to the bathroom. That said, he did a direct angle taking out the company’s most popular wrestler and top draw. The angle was exactly like the ridiculously overdone TNA swerve angle. The deal is, the swerve angle on its own is not bad. It’s just when it’s done over-and-over, it has no effectiveness and it makes you groan. Once every few years, and it’s a very effective angle. So there was nothing wrong with that aspect of it.

Whether Jarrett will fit in at a high level here, where the standards for work in the main events are the highest in the world, is another question. Jarrett is 47, and the only major promotion he’s wrestled for in recent years, is AAA, where he gets over mostly with the race-baiting heel American gimmick. He doesn’t do a lot in the ring, but he also knows he doesn’t have to. Here he would know he has to.”

Well Jeff - here you are at 55 still killing it in AEW but Japan is a whole different world isn’t it?

Did you ever foresee working a singles match with Tanahashi?

Bully Ray powerbombs Dixie Carter through a table and Dixie legit gets hurt. Did you see this and what did you think of it?

The rumors are building that GFW is going to help put Wrestle Kingdom on American PPV. How did this plan all come together?

It’s announced that Bound for Glory will take place from Japan - and it’s reported that you actually put the deal together for this show to take place before you left TNA with Wrestle-1. What can you tell us about your vision and how the deal came together - and then what ended up happening?

You’re gone from New Japan until October when you accompany AJ to the ring for his match against Tanahashi. But before we get to you killing the Bullet Club - you’re there to put the final touches on the New Japan PPV America deal are you not?

There’s talk that you may even try to stream the show on the GFW website if you can’t get PPV clearance. Was that ever a thought?

AJ drops the title when Yoshi-tatsu stops your interference. Yoshi-tatsu…walk me through all your memories of this.

With Spike dropping TNA - is it ironic to you that both companies you founded are looking for a TV deal at the same time. Did you hear from Spike when this all goes down?

Did you think this was the end of TNA and you would be able to pick up the scraps?

Did you have any further talks about getting the footage or anything with the Carters to purchase the company?

We’re going to end it there for now but there’s so much more to come!

The PPV deal, you wrestling at Wrestle Kingdom, Jim Ross, & so much more!

NEXT WEEK! May 2003 of TNA. The Glen Gilberti push is on in TNA, as CM Punk also debuts, Extreme Revolution takes shape, SEX takes over, and the Asylum turns on Jeff!
