We continue to grieve as a family, and community, over the sudden passing of Josh Odom last week. If you have a story or memory of how Josh impacted your life - no matter how big or small - please share it with us below.

And if you’re able to help support Josh’s family in any way during this difficult time, you can do so here

Josh was one of the kindest human beings I have interacted with, Whenever there was a zoom that he was involved with, he made sure to get on so I could get my shit in. To Josh's wife Carla and his children, Josh was so beloved here in the afs community and I know how much he loved you.

When Josh and I would work together for AFS, he would send snarky comments to me via text during our shows. If you ever saw me laugh by myself, there’s a 75% chance it’s because Josh was texting me something funny. Most of the time he was telling me to stop flirting with Tony or someone was going to tell Eric. 😳 He would also find ways to tell me how terrible my favorite football team is. I remember once specifically, one of our talent was talking to everyone, burying a certain match. Josh said something along the lines of, “if Arn thinks THAT was bad, he should have seen the Falcons last week.” Something I won’t forget though, is this thoughtful thing he did. He was editing the old JR radio show tapes. He texted me and said he found one that was mostly JR talking about the Falcons. He was going to edit it out for AFS because “no one cares about the Falcons.” I checked my email later and he had sent me the clip.

I did not know him but just wanted to share my condolences for his loved ones. I see Josh was the exact same age as my sister when she passed. I can relate to that pain and just wanted to say time does help but talking about it helps even more!

Josh and I were not super close. He was usually in an official capacity and busy. But he always was fun to be around in a social setting when he was able to hang out. I have no specific memory of any one thing he did. But I alays appreciated him just being one of the group. Never acted as important as he was. Heck, most people were unaware of his role cause he was just a good, down to earth guy who would pop in and have some fun. I definitely looked forward to seeing him and talking with him.

Based upon everything I’ve heard over the last 3 days, one of my life’s regrets is that we only met in passing. As the tributes pour in, I realize that he was an amazing person. May he truly rest in peace

I met Josh through the Podcast Saved by the Pod. As luck would have it, he joined the AFS team and began producing regularly, including for the Arn show which I research and complete the notes for. We have been in a WrestleGamia group text for months and we had a couple of running jokes. First, he threatened to have me banned from Starrcast after it was announced my inappropriate crush Ricky Starks was going to be there. He learned of the is crush thanks to Lauren and Efren when Starks was in a zoom. And for the record, I’m still not banned. If you know, you know. The other running joke was me as a work place employee based on the stories I told the group chat about my job as a finance manager. Odom relentlessly teased me about how I was an HR nightmare and all that. He’s not wrong. The rib only got better when I transferred to our corporate location where my office is located directly accross from the HR Directors. When he learned of this development. Josh was giddy leading to our running line about my weekly appointment with HR that inevitably began with Odom asking “What have you done now, Hermes?” These are small things I remember but they are specific to the relationship he and I had. It was always fun, light, and a retreat from the every day grind. I will certainly miss the back and forth with Josh, even if Bret Hart was the subject. He was someone I can call my friend, and like so many others, it was this thing called wrestling that brought us together. Nothing but love for Josh, Carla, their children. You are already missed. And will always be remembered. Oh. And one more thing. Fuck Hockey. If you know, you know. ♥️♥️♥️

I have many, many Josh Odom stories that I'm grateful for (and can't share many in text form 😂), but I'll share one. On the third or fourth Hardy episode, I was still trying to earn my way in with House Hardy. Matt's free time is minimal as is, and this is when we were recording from his house. I hadn't quite won Reby over yet. Matt and I were going a little long, and as we were on-air, Reby storms in and starts yelling "TWO HOURS?! TWO FUCKING HOURS YOU'RE RECORDING?! WHERE'S THE MONEY? SHOW ME THE FUCKING MONEY? GET THE FUCK OFF HERE!" I'm trying to keep myself together after being yelled at by this wild human being, Matt's laughing. I'm very flustered. We finish recording, Matt hangs up on the line, and Odom, who was producing, bursts in laughing his ass off for what felt like 15 minutes without saying a word. He took so much enjoyment out of me being roasted, and would go on to randomly text me for months saying "TWO HOURS?!" He loved every minute of what he did. I miss him greatly.

Sorry for your lost

I had fun chatting with him last year at TGW. We joked that we needed to make a Josh Club T-shirt for all the Josh's in the AFS family. He seemed tickled by the idea. I told him he'd definitely be the Prince Devitt of the group which he seemed to appreciate. Such a great guy who worked his ass off. I love that we got some opportunities to show that appreciation to him at TGW and whenever he'd pop up on the Zooms from time to time.

Sorry guys, it's still surreal for me to even think this is reality. Known Josh for 4 years now & he was the same person from day 1 until now. Met him over zoom during various shows then once things open back up, we got to work together during last year's TGW & this year at the Squared Circle Expo. People kept telling me how fast & busy I was during TGW last year but in all honesty, I was trying to keep up with Josh Odom! Josh & Carla were on it last year so it was an honor to work with them both. Last month, Josh Shernoff & myself were so thrilled that he was going to be part of PSN with us. I mean Odom came to the Squared Circle Expo in Indianapolis & jumped right him to help us without hesitation. He always remained calm, loved his family, & was a good vibe to be around. The world, our world is definitely at a huge loss with him not physically around.
