Watching her first appearance in the Superman Animated Series, I can see the writers and directors of the WB or the series wanting an introduction that would visually convey the mental state of a girl woken up from years of cryogenic state, that had lost her world, parents, everything and that had to restart her life on another planet: ".. and she starts very much like a farm girl - just like Clark - remember, humble... H-U-M-B-L-E beginnings. Show her naivety and innocence - cause in her mind she's still not an adult. Not an adult, Bruce (Timm)....draw her in overalls, that should work. No skimpy stuff, no perky nipples, none of that stuff, this time we really need you to listen to us, Bruce. Do you understand? We desperately need our audience to pay attention to the plot"
