Our bad luck started off strong. We got up at 5 a.m. on Saturday, went to the airport, and... found out that our flight had a three-hour delay.

Fantastic.

Then, right around when we finally boarded the plane, we got a message from the guesthouse we were going to stay at, letting us know they were cancelling our reservation (which we'd already paid for in full) because we hadn't transferred the money for some kind of additional security deposit that we were apparently supposed to pay seven days in advance.

(Obviously a bullshit excuse. They had seven days to notify us about this oversight but clearly waited until they'd already rented our room out to someone else, possibly for more money, as they didn't respond to questions about paying the security deposit upon check-in, or even our offer of transferring the money right then and there.)

And finally, our return flight got straight-up cancelled.

Despite all this, we had a great time. ^^

I got a lot of editing done on Saturday at the airport, which was nice. We booked a hotel room, which cost a bit more, but was located much closer to the centre, saving us both time and transport expenses, and actually had AC. (It was 30 degrees Celsius in London this weekend, so that was very nice.)

And finally, we were actually already at the airport when our return flight got cancelled, and we managed to transfer to a flight that left an hour earlier, at no extra cost. :p

Most importantly, however, was that the show we actually came to London for, Deathnote the Musical in Concert, was amazing. My girlfriend is a huge fan of Deathnote in general, while I'm more a fan of its Musical adaptation in particular. The show only ran for two weekends, so we were very happy to be able to witness it.

Hopefully it'll get a proper run in English at some point. If so, I highly recommend checking it out. ^^
