**COMPLICATED HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

The first half of this episode was adorable zoo shenanigans with Egashira meeting an unexpected "ally" and like-minded spirit! However, the second half was a juxtaposition of a wholesome sleepover at Mitsumi's with Shima going through the wringer as the guilt of his past takes human form!

Ririka...she IS the DRAMA of this season, in case we were wondering!

Egashira it's kind of an odd character, at the end of the day she's a secondary character and not one of the two protagonists but it almost feels like we get a bigger look at her internal monologue than we do Mitsumi's or Shima's. I guess it's kind of a necessity because she's so guarded that without that internal monologue or Nao's psyche reading powers we might be still hating on her rather than see she's just a regular girl with her own insecurities. She might still have to work on herself as a person but I like her as a character. Trying hard not be be one of the 'dorks' but feeling like one when comparing herself to Yuzuki, Ririka and the like. And Nao identifying with her and taking her under her wing was sweet. P.S. forget glasses, from now on if characters aren't switching genders when going incognito they're not even trying.

I like Egashira as a "major side character" - she's like that third party that's connecting everyone together -- she's so important and doesn't realize it! I love her and Nao connecting with one another though! And seriously, Nao has that duality -- I love her! She can pull it all off so well! Thank you for the comment and kind words -- I'm so nervous for our girl the rest of the season, but so excited to see where things go!

I appreciate Nao bonding with Egashira so much. The thing that is so great about Nao as a trans representation is that it is so subtle but also so understanding. Like I often heard from even ally cis people that they don't understand feelings of body dysphoria. You do! It is just expressed differently, but sometimes can be similar too. The experience Nao has is not uncommon and can be related to another teenage girl like Egashira. It feels less alienate. When Yuzuki mentioned her bad experience in middle school, she said "relationship drama" especially. I had a very attractive friend in high school and she was often dragged into relationship drama. Someone just came up to her one day and told her she stole their boyfriend, who she didn't even know, it was very stupid and annoying. The Ririka scene was so tense. That girl needs to go to therapy instead of guilt-tripping another person 😭 I like that it is portrayed as a toxic friend and not a toxic ex. I don't think the show needs that trope, and she is put in opposition with Mitsumi, who is developing feelings for Shima, but their friendship is still emphasized first.

Nao and Egashira bonding is so beautiful!! Yessss, regardless of sexual orientation or gender, anyone can feel alienated in their own body for so many different reasons; the fact that Nao has been able to live their true lives and be their authentic self and be happy is such an inspiration! Ahhhhh, I hadn’t thought of that with Yuzuki being accused of “stealing boyfriends” or being pulled into the drama THAT way – if that’s true, that’s super sad! I hate that for her because she’s such a great person and kind friend! Ririka is just PURE DRAMA - so tense! Yeah, therapy for her is a MUST. I hate that she keeps pulling Shima down instead of just letting him move on. And yes, I talked in the discussion that it was a toxic friendship. I feel I went on forever with that, haha, so apologies but her actions just really make me mad. Shima doesn’t deserve that! 🙁 Thank you for the comment and kind words!
