Thanks for the movie. I'm always hyped when you drop a movie. This movie was better with you guys reacting to it. I'm not very knowledgable about Doctor Fate but I feel like they had to weaken him ALOT for the movie. Isn't Doctor Fate suppose to be one of the most powerful sorcerers in DC. Fate barely did anything. He was more like a cryptic crystal ball. He put in work like one time.

You are generally correct that Fate Helmet Nabu is stronger/weaker depending on who is wielding it/him. He has an older host in this movie. Often that is how he’s introduced and than a younger body with a high affinity for magic gets the powers and can be more powerful because the host is an old human

Also. Often the human host doesnt want to put on the helmet because they surrender control to Nabu (the entity in the helmet).

Finally this Fate also saw the future so he got involved to a degree to achieve the outcome that he saw. Similar to doctor strange in Infinity War. These sourcers who see futures tend to be tactical because they see a chain of events need to occur ajd he was rooting for Black Adam but needed the character growth to occur for him and Hawk from what I gathered. I still think he was nerfed but was acceptable to me for the reasons I noted. It fit the story

Also. Like now that i think about it. He’s hyped up as madd strong but i always see Fate getting bodied lmao. But he has the power to seal people up, lock them in different dimensions, etc. i think he’s a character people struggle to use. Reminds me of superman. Based on his stats there is no reason batman could ever beat him. He can use lazer vision at range and he’s super fast. He saw flash run and adjusted his speed to go catch up. There is no reason anyone can sneak kryptonite out of a container unless they themselves have super speed and superman can tell when someone is using lead to hide something. Lol. Just gotta turn off ones brain with comic heroes. Lol.

So is this movie just Black Adam origin story? How does this tie to the other Shazam movies? I don't know much about comic sides of these, but this was confusing to me. I really thought Black Adam would be the villain for the normal Shazam heroes? :/

DC did a reboot. Lol. Had no idea what they were doing. My understanding is Rocky pushed this movie to be made and Rocky didnt want to be a true villain. He’s the peoples champ after all.

He was an enemy to the heroes and superman was set up to fight him because they we’re establishing a hero who the works considered a Villain basically because he was always gonna do his own thing. Like American heroes are a Villain in Russia haha. Something like that

The Rock thought he was going to take over the DC world 😂. Shazam is Black Atoms rival & Black atom can fight superman one on one. Thank God DC is starting over. Black Atom could of been apart of it

lol after the sixth time I heard them say “he’s just a kid” I had to say that part of his power is infinite wisdom, and no he is not a good guy, in fact he is very evil originally, and while fate lore wise is very very rash and quick he has only been proven “wrong” once and that’s when some magic mumbo jumbo changed fate itself.

That’s why I always tell people the only reason Batman ever beat Superman is because Superman doesn’t want to fight Batman in those instances and Batman is usually out for blood.
