NGL if I was in the brother demon's position, I would have easily done the exact same things he did.

Lucky

He was going to hell. He didn't get the option to go the other way. And she wasn't going anywhere without him. So they went together. And blemish, think of it in terms of skin. A blemish is a bad mark. Muzan belongs the same bloodline as the master, hence, the sole blemish. And his disease is a curse put on the bloodline for birthing the original demon into the world

Alghairon

First even if she did stab him in the eye it that worth being burned to death? She was still a young girl. If anything law enforcement should have taken care of it. But to decide her sentence and burn her with out a trial or hearing her side. Taking the law in your own hands is never good. We don't know what would have happened if that had happened. Maybe she would have been cleared of everything that happened. But we'll never know for sure cause someone decided to burn her first.

Ophelia Pane

She was a debt collector, he should have payed his debt, especially in this time period.

AbelToGame

I like the parallels in the backstory with Gyutaro wearing green like Tanjiro and Daki/Ume wearing pink like Nezuko. I think that Ume had a "chance" to go to "heaven" since she technically didn't choose to be a demon Gyutaro accepted it for both of them. I could be completely wrong about it though.

Anderson Lake(The Bleach)

Only Daki was allowed to go to the other side while Gyutaro was going to hell but Daki chose to go with him. At least that's how it was portrayed.

Bryce Jackson

The thing you are forgetting is samurai during that time generally served the emperor so who was any authority gonna believe? A trusted warrior of the emperor or a prostitute? And yes Daki (Ume) was a prostitute. She was 13 in the pleasure district the scene showed the bed (futon) in a disheveled state so my guess is he wasn’t gonna pay her (yes it’s fucked but history is normally fucked accept it for what it is and just be glad it’s not like that today)

Dantene

Now that it's animated, we can all agree, right? Daki a ride or die. We all make mistakes, but at the end of the day, she knows it's always been about family.

Florin

Only the last sentence is. The rest is from this episode

BoxHead

I know it’s just even being short it’s still feels like a lot of info to me 😬😬😬😬

Rengoku: Set Your Heart Ablaze Nezuko: Set Uzui Ablaze

DefianceR6

that is a clear spoiler dude, why are you expanding on knowledge not explained in the anime. They def will explain that in later seasons.

Thamor

That master always looked little similar to Muzan. So I am on the guess train that Muzan is his great great great x 5 ancestor and they are related by blood. Maybe this whole demon slayer organization was made by Muzan's family to get revenge on him? PS. YBRL DO SOMETHING! :D

Thamor

Yes, Daki did nothing wrong when she was human. She got turned to demon and in a way all the stuff she did as a demon I feel will not add to your sins. Gyutaro was killing people and doing bad things even before he got turned to demon, that is how I understand it. So it's more the human sins that decided for them, compared to what they did as demons.

BarGamer

Compare and contrast Gyutaro and Tanjiro, or like they said, the Devil Believers from Black Clover, or even better, Gyutaro and Deadpool. Daki is a hounddog, crying all the time... ;) This is a bit convoluted, as Japanese has a weird alternative translation thing going on with their kanji, but Ume can be translated as either: White Plum, which has beautiful connotations; or Syphilis, which is the disease that killed her mother, which you guys saw as the fly-covered corpse.

Anonymous

is it a spoiler if the master says it in this episode, it was said in a vague way but I don't think there is any other way to interpret what the master said

sincity

In the manga they explained why she stabbed him in the eye. If i remember it correctly The Samurai was talking shit about Gyutaro and she didn't appreciate that.

Skebaba

It was kinda obvious to me, when the master said Muzan is his relative, and I've not read the mango (I hate mango, I'd rather everything be LN or anime instead, go to either extreme, not a failed abortion mid-ground like mango is), but based on the hundreds of different LN series I've read, I can extrapolate that it's prolly a curse, since that's how Japanese (or Asian cultural stuff in general) literature tropes etc tend to work, especially since KnY is so heavily traditional in its core concepts etc

Skebaba

This. Samurai were NOBILITY (essentially Emperor/Shogun>Daimyo>Administrating Officials=Samurai, in hierarchy), and they could literally LEGALLY chop off ANY pissants' heads off for any reason, perceived or legitimate doesn't matter, since Nobles by definition can do ANYTHING THEY FUCKING WANT to anyone lower than their position in Hierarchy (just like the Emperor/Shogun could theoretically execute any Samurai they felt like, for literally any reason perceived or otherwise, altho they'd usually be told to commit Seppuku, which they would cuz otherwise they'd be just killed normally and it'd be Dishonorable for Samurai to not fall in combat or at least via Seppuku if cornered)

Skebaba

They do add to your sins (see Rui in S1), but it's implied that Ume was prolly living normal good life in PREVIOUS INCARNATIONS, and those were enough to carry over Positive Karma stacked from those lives to negate the amount of Negative Karma gathered in this Incarnation of her, so since she had more Positive Karma stashed than she had Negative Karma, she could have skipped the Purification of Hell entirely, and gotten Reincarnated directly without going through what is essentially a PRISON SENTENCE of cosmic timescale proportions. The Balancing of Karma is a somewhat complex-y system, yet simpleish enough once you think about it enough

Mintteacup

Bro samurai would go around testing their new swords on random strangers for no reason. Burning someone for stabbing you in the eye is kinda reasonable at that point

Mintteacup

Daki did take responsibility in the afterlife. She said she was just mad because of how she got them killed

AzazZe3L

Ohh their story was so sad, this episode made me shed a few tears.😢
