Reasons why I wished Cote was a full season anime like Mushoku Tensei or Frieren. They skip too much with only a limited number of episodes. I still enjoy this anime but there are problems we keep having.

yeah arz, season 3 adapts volume 8 and 9, universally accepted to be the worst volumes in all of cote. Reading it was extremely difficult, but these next 2 volumes (10 and 11) are considered to be the best volumes in cote. The mindgames in this exam will be interesting, and the chess match especially.

It wouldn’t change anything. The source of the problem is that the moment the show even slightly veers away from the main character, everyone loses their gods damned minds and starts screaming about filler. Just look at what happened with Tsukimichi when the 2nd and 3rd episodes of this season covered the heroes. Everyone went crazy because of it. The animators started cutting the character building for the side characters in some shows, and so those of us who actually care about plot and world building are the ones that suffer. There’s a reason why I stopped reading Shield Hero’s novels, and it’s because it’s all told solely in Naofumi’s point of view, except for certain epilogues, and he’s a very unreliable narrator. I like seeing the world through several different characters’ eyes, as it makes the world more real and easier to visualize. Now they’re taking the context for characters’ actions out and expect us to just roll with it?! UGGHHH!!! Ok… rant over. Sorry about that.

You are taking about a whole different series, Cote anime makes Ayanokoji seems like a emotionless person who doesn't care about people. They constantly cut his real thoughts and the characters feel so bland compared to the light novel. Having more episodes makes the story feel more natural and better paced.

Arz, like others saying, the volumes this season adapts are considered the weakest by the novel readers so I'm not worried at all. If it never gets this "mid" again then I have no complaints. I have read them as an aside.

Darion, thats fine if you dont really like it. I mostly like it because the mindgames and the constant high risk situations that need to be solved. In season 1 the early episodes didn't really divulge into anything so I could see why you feel that way

Nachelie i have read some of LN after watching season 1 and to me i prefer anime Ayanokoji because he is the way i like it cold and emotionless. but i understand why LN reader hate the series you guys read LN and you like that version more. i like anime version more.

Just because you can understand someone's thought process doesn't mean they're right or valid. Hirata is basically upset that things didn't occur in a natural and fair way in the last exam but Horikita actually made the voting process more fair by presenting the class with all the information. Hirata's behavior would be more valid if he had an alternative to make everything truly fair but he had no plan of his own so now he's acting like a bitch because everyone want to arrive at a solution without leaving things up to chance.
