Roshi’s off hand comments on the rules of the exam kept on confusing the hell out of me. So I rewatched where they explained the special exam and decided to summarize it here for the gang to see: - Each student in each class (A, B, C, D) has 3 positive points and 3 negative points. - Each student must choose 6 students in their own class to give each point to. - 1 positive point negates 1 negative point so if a student receives 1 positive point and then receives 2 negative points, they’re left with 1 negative point. - The student with the most negative points in their class gets expelled. That means 4 students from each grade (12 in total) will be expelled. - Additionally, each student has 1 extra positive point that they can only use on a student in a different class from them (has to be the same grade tho). - Each student with the most positive points in each class will receive a protection point that can be used to nullify expulsion in future exams. - In case of a draw in a class, the students of that class must hold the class vote again until someone gains the most negative points and is expelled. - The only way to nullify a student’s expulsion in your class is to pay 20 million private points to the school. This is the strategy that Ichinose wants to use for her class. She can’t and isn't using it for Anyanakoji because those are the collective points of her classmates that they’ve been saving overtime. The rules are pretty straightforward just don’t overthink it & give exam explanation scenes some time to play out because most of my questions were answered towards the end.

She could but it’s been made pretty clear that she wants to save everyone in class B. All she was gonna do for Ayanokoji is granting him her positive vote that’s it. So yeah she is saving her class and not Ayanokoji even though she likes him.

You misunderstood the situation Ayanokoji is in trouble here bcs Ichinose has nothing to do with his situation. She is trying to have 20M to save someone from her class (class B). Ayanokoji has to figure out a way out of his expulsion on his own with Yamauchi and Kushida who turned half of the class against him. The only thing he can count on from other classes is their positive votes who could maybe save him from being last but that’s it. Remember Ichinose’s points are the points of all of Class B so if she would just use them all up to save the guy she likes and let one of her classmates get expelled it would fuck up the whole dynamic and trust of their class. Why would they give her their points if she would just use it for her own personal gain.

Just to add on to this, it is only for the first years since they haven't had any expulsions. so not 12 total. However, sakayanagi implied the real reason this test was made is because whoever is in charge wants ayanokouji expelled

they ain't lying. Ryuen does not in any form work under koji. After the fight ryuen accused him of doing that but then koji said he wouldn't and never asked him to do anything - he just didn't want ryuen to leave the school

Something i noticed in this episode is that everyone uses koji as a tool just as much as he uses them. You really just gotta ask him to do something and he gonna lock in even if he doesn't want to lmfao

that's an interesting way to look at it. i think from reading the LNs it gives more insight into how he thinks, and if someone asked him to do something that wouldn't help him in the future he wouldn't do it. That's the one thing I very much dislike abt the anime cause they rarely give his thoughts. For example, if instead of ichinose it was some random person that had to date president nagumo i don't think he'd care UNLESS it is something that he can take advantage of later by fixing it or if he can use it as leverage by fixing it. Like in the beginning of the anime there were many times horikita began to ask him for help on stuff and he'd just tell her to fuck off

Honestly i think in regards to horikita she just lacks the CONFIDENCE and skill to actually use him effectively and i feel like he's been trying to make her understand that since last season.

Ichinose said that she wants to save everyone in her class so her points aren't going towards Ayanokoji at all, plus I don't think she knows about Sakayanagi going after him so she wouldn't think he would be at high risk of being expelled.

This episode is a prime example of why Ayanakoji and Horikita are my favs on this show! Ayanakoji showing the "Alright bet" energy and Horikita showing courage and putting a name on who really should be expelled after a much-needed confrontation with her brother. That's why they're my goats!!! Also, I did not notice the KFC bucket last episode until I saw Roshi's tweet. Lol that's so random. And like y'all said, I also think that Horikita's brother just wants her to start being Horikita and stop trying to be him.
