Fernando Perez

My girl Mizu about to get shanked 3 times the second she steps in London. No amount of samurai training has prepared her for that battlefield.

Bro really said you won’t find them because they ain’t here. Wonder how they’ll tie in the japan storyline with the london one or do we not see ringo and the crew a whole lot in season 2 because that would be sad. Messed up that Mizu gave 0 notice before just leaving and left her meteor sword behind.

Godrick

"Rush in recklessly always works" I guess yall forgot about what happened in Barry...

Frederick

16:00 Lupa got me lightheaded bro what was the lookout doing bro? 🤦🏾‍♂️

Kisuke01

Where the bombs at I would've blown up the bridge and had flaming barrels of death rolls towards them

Hasnain Khan

Yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

LisMM

Lupa’s not the only one shipping them lol. I am fully on board. 🫡

User100

"Blue eye shooter" I'm dying 💀💀💀💀

Davon Thomas

Lupa not understanding why it would be difficult to introduce a white man to Asians. Especially the Shogun

Cam Shannon

I need season 2 now

2024-02-09 01:13:50 Mizu really caused one of the worst fires in history just to try and kill one man. The great fire of 1657 was a real event that pretty much completely destroyed tokyo. Estimates of how many died are as high as 100,000. Mizu is truly not supposed to be a hero protagonist, just a main character, and I kind of love it.

Roshi salivating as the white man's guns obliterate Asians lmao

KingDom

she didn’t shoot the gun cause that’s the one mizu cut the trigger thing off when she jumped in so it wouldn’t have fired anyway.

Bria A.

At the end of the day it really doesn’t matter which man is/was actually Mizu’s father, she said she was gonna smoke em all and is standing on business lmao. As someone who cannot stand loose ends (especially violent and intelligent loose ends), I hate that Fowler is still alive though.

Rai

An interesting theory going around is that mizu's mom might actually be white and her dad is Japanese

Gilthwixt

Ringo gonna be Mizu's Uber BLADEZ delivery trekking all the way to Europe to drop it off, her ass better tip lol

Ashiya Campbell-Archeval

“You don’t see the wall falling?” They didn’t even see the ARMY OF GUNS coming down the BLOCK🤦🏽‍♀️

HIM

I was thinking this. Like, maybe Violet was her mom. If you remember the quick flash to a white woman who looked exactly like Mizu, I think that was actually Violet.

John Cedar

I mean, she would've been at a completely dead end if she killed him too soon. She would be wandering Japan forever, looking for two men she'll never find if he doesn't tell her about London. I don't think anyone else in Japan could've helped her at all. Personally, I think Fowler is insanely evil but captivating, so I'm glad he's sticking around. Feels like he owned any scene he was in and I think we could get a lot of interesting conversations in S2 of him trying to antagonize Mizu from his cell, to make her confront her white half or deal with the culture shock of visiting the west.

Bria A.

Oh I know all of this, I just have some slight dread that that bastard is gonna pull some Joe from You shenanigans and skip town if he ever gets left to his own devices 😂

Mike A

To be fair there was no way to know throwing a single candle would burn the entire city down. That said, Mizu didn't seem too broken up about it and we all know she got that dog in her. 🐶🔥

Franklin wasn't getting away with 35mil scott free

Nah this is stupid how the fuck word wasn't sent from the gates of the city that a whole army with guns was casually strolling in ? Like nigga this the seat of the Shogunate, niggas should have known before the princes even returned that an invasion was coming; and if they were that far in to the city what the fuck was the point of having Ringo and Akemi's old ting make such a fuss about warning the Shogun? They, AT MOST, gave them like 1-2 minutes notice.

Rai

Ooooo I don't remember that that's interesting do remember the episode?

Mike A

My favorite moment from the episode is Fowler talking trash to Mizu as he's beating her ass until he finds out she's a girl. He's still talking trash but there's almost a level of respect to it that makes me laugh.

John Cedar

Considering that everything in Japan is wood at this time, that is a crazy dumb move on Mizu's part. She definitely didn't think, "I could burn down the whole city rn" when she did it, but the point is that she didn't really think at all. She didn't care in the slightest about the ripple effects of her actions this whole season, as long as it helped her move towards her revenge. Not thinking about the repercussions of deliberately starting a huge fire in a densely packed wooden city is the ultimate bad outcome of that line of thinking. That was her fully choosing her revenge and no other part of herself, in opposition to what her teacher advised last episode. The demon in her "took two chairs" when she did that, and the world suffered. It shows her arc is really just beginning.

HIM

Anyone who's seen Hazbin Hotel think it's wierd that the whole "Live knowing that you only do because I allow it." line feels ripped from this very episode? Coincidence, I'm sure, but the time line of which I watched both episodes is wyld to me lol

Thunter

Ngl these last two episodes fell way flat for me. Lost my respect for Fowler as a villain, absolutely despised Akemi, a great setup for the finale felt anti climatic based on the final confrontation with fowler, my boi Seki legit died for no reason, and Taigan got shafted by Akemi. This show was a 10/10 for me, but during the duration it dropped to a 6…. I hope season 2 is an improvement

John Cedar

Violet is (was) a man, Fowler says in this episode that she is "trying to kill all FOUR of her maybe fathers". Mizu also refers to them as four men many times, if she had discovered and killed the one woman she wouldn't still be saying that. If im thinking about the right scene you're talking about with a white version of Mizu, I think that was simply a dream sequence symbolically showing that Mizu is struggling with being mixed race and what that means in this world.

HIM

It's episode 2, right before she gets jumped by the 4 fangs. To Buddy's points, I understand the way it was portrayed, but it isn't uncommon to group a woman into a sentence like "4 white men.". It's a mouthful to say "3 white men, and 1 white woman.". At least, that was my thinking. The scene I was referring to did show Mizu literally running up to this woman on a Victorian couch and putting a blade to her neck and staring her dead in the eyes. I get that it seems purely symbolic, but given this shows tendency to bring people from memories into the current picture is interesting. I'm just saying that's my far-fetched theory and it's totally okay if it's wrong 🙃

HIM

TS 30:30 "Nigga, please, Mizu... It's not a bat!" Had me WEAK. Roshi made a funny 🤣 😂

Kumi Chan

why she yelling

Aaron Gauntt

Imagine the last thing Seki saw was Akemi's head go pop

AOArlert

100s of shows and movies say similar lines. Animated shows also takes months/years to create so I highly doubt they actively decided to rip one line from a random show without it being an obvious reference

HIM

I've never heard that line before 😆 but I agree with you. That's why it's super wierd.

AOArlert

Honestly I genuinely can’t see how this London plot will work unless Fowler joins our side temporarily, I really don’t want them to make Fowler out as a redeemable character. How the hell is a Japanese lady gonna navigate 1600s England without drawing attention?

Beckett Cullen

You guys should really watch the HBO show Tokyo Vice season 2 just started and its really good

Isaac

Damn, mizu literally burned an entire city in the name of revenge. Shame on her for that but hey, it worked out since that massive fired spared Japan from being ruled by the White Men. Probably a lot of civilian casualties because I doubt everyone made it out. RIP mikio though. That was Mizu's saving grace to not be on her revenge path buy she flopped with that sparring stunt she pulled. I aint mad at him for being terrified at that when it happened. Fuck the maid. Sad she was a druggie and sick but still she ruined a good thing.

Isaac

And very sad to see akemi and taigen fall apart. They basically swapped mentalities since Akemi wanted to just be happy and Taigen wanted to be great at the beginning.

2024-02-09 04:24:26 Voice actor for Ringo really fucked up. He really said "Akimi" instead of Akemi. Nah, Director is to blame for not correcting him.

Or just ignorant and lazy, and straight up didn't care if ppl were saying the name differently from one character to another. Really takes out of the immersion (though the fact this is in English in the first place already removes a great deal of immersion).

What don’t the shogun use guns when his name is literally “show gun”

Tancho21

Bro when it comes to sex Japan is one of the wildest country.😂 So I understood the reference in the show

Tim Chaos

You know you’re a weeb when you complain about the Japanese actor’s pronunciation of Japanese names

CleoKujo

Gosh you three are the best reactors on earth always making me laugh😂

Azzy V

The scene where Akemi was saying she wanted to be great and was looking at taigen it shows fire behind her symbolizing her energy and the peace and trees behind Taigen showed how he just wants to live peacefully. Theres are a lot of ques that i loved but by far one of the best series ive watched 2024

Tabbs

Yeah violet doesn’t really sound like a traditional Japanese name

I'm half Japanese, so fuck off, Timbo. I know exactly how words should pronounced, and AKIMI isn't AKEMI. It's pretty fucking simple, and you're just a ignorant dumbass. Actually clinically stupid lmao. So again. Fuck off, prick. :)

Norman kay10

Best epic journey, i loved being with you guys through every episode. looking forward to Netflix live action Avatar the last air bender on another experience

Husky

THANK YOU SHEERA. She mentioned the arrows at the cave where they had the tea spot at, but im wondering why the Shogun of all people, doesn't have archers that can shoot like that. That's what they needed during that raid.

Malachi Davis

yall should continue Th Witcher season 3 is out!

Sekraan

The point of the demonstration with the condemned prisoners last episode is to show that the range of rifles outpaces that of arrows. They'd just start shooting from further back. That's hard to square with the awesome visual effect of the arrow storm from the earlier episode I know. They're trying to have their cake and eat it

2024-02-09 21:02:17 I think he just meant that the maid ditched her (after the fire), not that he knew she had reported Mizu to the guys who pulled up years later. Not 100%, though, that might be me misunderstand.
2024-02-09 21:00:38 I think Fowler just meant that the maid ditched Mizu when she was still a kid (after the fire), not that he knew she had reported Mizu to the guys who pulled up years later. Not 100%, though, that might be me misunderstand. What I really find interesting is that if the "mom" we knew wasn't really her bio-mom, then who's to say her mother wasn't white and her father Japanese? They keep saying there were only four white *men* in Japan at the time. And in one flashback it seemed like a Japanese man saved baby Mizu, even going so far as to kill someone who was with him to protect her -- could daddy have been the one to grow a conscience?

Since the episode title says this is The Great Fire of Meireki / Great Fire of 1657, Mizu just wracked up about 100,000 civilian bodies as collateral damage right there. About 70% of Edo/Tokyo burned down in it.

Fizzy

Bro just no lol Witcher is cooked as a series give it up

LaTesha

I'm with Lupa when he said maybe not destroy all the guns, or at least keep three to study later. Their mother made a poor decision thinking that the "white men" won't pull up again just because she doesn't want too have their influence through the guns left in Japan. Y'all gonna get clapped again 😂

Manju

they literally kicked off the main lead, it is COOKED

Allex Jean

Scavengers reingn good show on hbo max

Isaac

That'd be a neat twist if there was a white woman among the the group that came to Japan along with the 4 men and that they never mentioned her because why would they need to mention a woman in their conquest narrative? The plot of woman who was probably the wife or blood related to one of the 4 white men having relations with a Japanese man doesn't seem farfetched so I can subscribe to that theory.

Isaac

When they gonna react to the 2010 scott pilgrim movie + the anime? They mentioned the anime reaction a while back but never kept up.

Kinkaz

Calm down, it's a show. I get it, but it's not that serious.

Passion

There were 4 white men in Japan. Fowler is one of them and the other two are in London. What about the 4th one? Please tell me when they introduced that one and how he died since I am assuming he is dead already and I completely forgot. Great show!

CornCobBob

The 4th is named Violet and yes it is assumed by their conversation that they are dead and Mizu, at some point, had already killed them.

Steve Harvey Dent

yah should react to twisted metel and knuckles when it comes out.

Chris

Mizu also has the tattoo with four open spaces that she keeps touching. One space had already been filled in when the show started, presumably after she killed Violet.

Oliver

If just one of the soldiers with guns had a sword they would have been able to unblock the matchlock from the door. Crazy how each weapon became the downfall of the other side Lmao Also the only think Fowler have to do in London is speak english and say this guy is a criminal. If Mizu doesn't get arrested for having a white man captured i would be surprised

Isaac Cobbinah

That fire really happened in Japan
