both sally and barry r big red flags, only reason why Barry is more toralable is because he's written softer (aka less annoying even though objectivly he's worse), we see his struggles which makes us empthazise even though he's a murderer. We also put ourselves in his shoes and sympathize with the descisions he has to make. That laptop thing is still weird asf.

The actual acting during the "I was in the military" scene was amazing. Seeing how hurt Barry actually was really drives home later on how terrible Sally was during the bar scene trying to turn the class against him. It's still so interesting how Sally and Barry are kind of terrible people in such different ways, but Sally's kind of terrible is just so much more irritating. It's probably because we've met people like Sally, so her narcissism feels more real than Barry's disregard for human life. Also I don't know how they managed to write a mercenary as a golden retriever, but I kind of love Taylor lmao.

I might be able to help. I'm a contributor to NVIDIA's GPU software and have helped a very tiny bit with 3D software(a bit different from premiere) for film & gaming industry. I've never used Premiere, but it should have crash logs that will give information that will trace it back to the cause. If you forward that to me(or adobe support I guess but idk if they suck) it should give some helpful diagnostics. I don't know what OS you're on, I'm guessing windows. From what I've googled, this is where the crash logs are stored: [username_here] -> Documents -> Adobe -> [Version_of_premiere_here] -> Logs they should be located there with the time they occurred. so for example: `C:/Sheera/Documents/Adobe/24.1/Logs` It's different for Mac, i'll just assume you don't use one though. There's also this folder for Windows if you care enough C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Pro\[Version]\CrashDumps

...there's no way you can contextualize the insanity of the laptop when the show went out of its way to prove that Barry jumped the gun with his fantasies about marrying/getting a place with her. She's trash, but I still don't get the urge to defend Barry when the show basically tells us he's going too fast. I feel like at least as far as I saw, the people pointin out the stuff about Sally were saying like ya, obviously she's awful, but her reaction about the laptop and him seeming to try and stake his claim on her as though they're actually together or anything was totally justifiable. And while they have been hanging out a lot in the time they've known each other, they still haven't actually known each other for long. Also adults or not, I think that yall sayin its understandable to give a laptop as a gift is just a sign of the money difference here, because while I am in my 20s personally, no 30+ adult I know is casually gifting laptops and stuff to people. Shits expensive and that's a big gift, even for someone you're much more familiar with then those 2 are with each other - referenced by the fact that she doesss mention how its worth 3 months of her rent, and like another person said in a comment above, supposedly they're ALL struggling actors and seem to b in similar boats, so she probably assumes similar of Barry. Regardless, a laptop is a wilddd gift. All in all, do I like Sally? Nooo, and I don't think that was the point of peoples comments last time either. No one (again, at least as far as /I/ saw that is) is saying she's likeable or that you should like her, in fact p much everyone seems to be on the same page of NOT liking her. But people can not like her and simultaneously acknowledge that some of yalls comments last time and the energy around the situation came off hella weird, regardless of whether yall actually intended it all as such or not.

Also, most people haven't met murderers or have been personally affected by someone like Barry. He's obviously bad and dysfunctional, but in a way that we can detach from and think of him more as a character. We have probably all had some annoying person act like Sally in our lives, whether that's how she injects herself and her story into every situation or just doesn't listen to the people around her while claiming to be so in touch with people's emotions as an actor...it's much more relatably unlikeable.

i agree with all your points. very well put. brava! people freak out about who pays for dinner on a first date cause of the power dynamic it could creates, OF COURSE some expensive gift like that would cause sally to be apprehensive and uncomfortable. even not knowing her full backstory, we know from that episode how a man tried to exert his dominance over her and can infer from what we know about hollywood and our society the situations she has been in with men her entire life. WE know barry is a good sweet noble guy cause we have the benefit of being omniscient viewers, sally doesnt. just give the girl some grace in that department, she has plenty of other flaws we can laugh at lol. im not saying i LIKE sally as in "if she was real i would hang out with her" but i like her as character for the show because her awful personality trait makes for good tv like a ratchet person on a reality tv show. we love to see it! but i also find her quite fascinating from a psychological stand point. there is more to her and to why she is the why she is outside of "she's just a bad person". from the way she responds to people and situations, its giving "im used to being in positions where people control me, never again" hence why she wants to be a star, and pretends to be more stable, well adjusted and successful then she really is. calling the dude her manager when he isnt, hyping up super small roles she gets auditions for, never letting others have a time to shine in her presence, having barry help her run lines but never doing the same for him. i cant wait til we get her backstory. toxic abusive exes and parents, come ooooooooooooooon down!

Woah wait I don’t think anyone last episode was defending Sally in the sense of ignoring how shitty of a person she is or anything or removing any blame and excusing any of her bullshit. We were just saying in the case of the laptop and the “thats my girl” thing she had a fairly reasonable reaction. Everybody and their mother KNOWS Sally is absolutely god awful and is an incredibly dense narcissist with no self awareness or accountability. The only reason no one mentioned or focused on that part is….i mean its a given like thats something everyone recognized and agreed on from episode 1 hence why everyone can’t stand her ass. Vs people pointing out what Barry’s fuck up was that he brought up on his end with being super mega ultra delusional Sally was/is without a doubt taking full advantage of Barry’s kindness and attention and justifying in some weird mentality of “oh yeah he’s offering it because he knows how great i am so i should take it. But i don’t personally see majority of the stuff they did prior to hooking up as being something that couldn’t also be done with a friend like say in the case that Barry was a woman. The only reason I personally say that Barry was trying to buy her affection with that laptop is that when paired all the dreams and delusions and the “thats my girl” shit it really comes off like he’s trying to lock down those delusional dreams by getting her to buy in to the oh so special relationship he sees. It comes off like he’s saying “see i’d do this for you no issue, now this means we’re together ”

I'm suprised because I don't really think people on either side have wrong thoughts on any of it, like in the end a lot of how you think about the characters and what they do comes down to personal perspective. Sally is a straight up manipulative person. She try to use Barry’s flaws and messed up nature to try to hide her own. The only difference with Barry and Sally is when Barry does something bad or messed up he genuinely feel bad, guilty or just plain naive about it while Sally either just doesn’t care or insensitive about it cause of how self centered and selfish she is. So its really easy to hate her character. Sally is the worst person Barry fell for.

While I do see your point, I don't think she deserve any grace at this point. Sure, she shouldn't have to deal with creepo manager but at this point in the story she is the worse in the acting group. Maybe there is truth to the control thing but currently she selfishly try to control the acting "group". She spin everything to be about her. She has been cutting off the other girl this whole time and the group has finally called her out in trying to be selfish. She was using Berry to make herself feel better and she jump to the next thing that will up her status. Barry may be out of line but he is not socially mature went is why he couldn't read the situation and why he jump to relationship line of thinking so fast. It wouldn't be that out of line to think those thoughts and buy things you shouldn't or be overly protective when you have no right to be. Can I just praise how incredibly well directed this show is? It’s subtle, but the framing and composition and editing and line delivery are all so sharp, you can tell it stems from having top tier directors at the helm (among them Bill Hader himself). The raid scene felt like a homage to Roger Deakins’ work in Sicario and that’s high praise. Also.. fuck Sally. All my homies hate Sally.

Everyone here got valid points. She has been adversely affected by other factors outside of Barry; and her response to those issues was great. However, the way she treats Barry and magnifies problems of her own volition, and also narcissistically interacts with others, shows that she need plenty of growth in her own way. The show is great, and the real discussions should revolve around their development rather than one-time interactions they've had, because it reduces them to a one-dimensional character rather than simply seeing the show through without interruption to get the whole character.

It isn't a debate on who's worse, if she's awful she's awful. And I definitely don't take kind to being called misgyonistic when I hella advocate for women characters in anything. We know Berry isn't good, who's saying "aw Berry" or that they feel bad for him? And I don't even hate Sally, I literally binged the show and I found myself liking her more after finishing it. I watched the whole show, enjoyed it very much.. I still hated Sally at the end. And like they said in the opening it's not to absolve Barry, but the show does very little to make me feel any sympathy for Sally (especially in the beginning here) I think even Fuches has some charisma points thrown his way by the show writers.
