Fernando Perez

Ah yes, Low Tier Frieren 🌩️

Seraph_Dalgon_

After all this time, it finally makes sense. Frieren was Low Tier God.

V STAN

LESGOOOO FINALLY

Erd'na

It's not a skill issue but mana issue.

FilmItLee

Frieren channeled her inner LTG

Kingmakaii

It was obvious from last episode when they said she got a scale that weighs mana the second she weighs her to frieren she finna lose and get folded 😭

2023-11-13 23:18:52 Believe you guys missed the line by Flamme, because demons CAN conceal their magic, they just see no point in doing it all the time, because to them it’s their only form of status. They do that only to ambush their targets or escape certain situations. Remember how Lügner and Linie pulled up on Fern and Stark without Fern sensing their mana?

If y'all remember, in the 1st or 2nd episode, when Frieren trains Fern at the edge of the cliff, Frieren said that she barely could not find Fern's existence because Fern is already good at suppressing her mana. I think that's why Fern doesn't need thousands of years of training to master it because she is gifted with that technique in the first place.

GraffitiTurtle

idk why but “kill yourself” is so much colder than something like “cut off your head”… Frieren didn’t need to land a single hit. And that, class, is why outsmarting your enemies is always better than directly engaging them 😂

Alexander Szabo

Frieren isn't interested in Aura's head, so why would she go out of her way to say "cut off your head"? Lelouch also just said "die" most of the time. If the goal is just to end them, then it makes sense to say that.

pmreez

That was so good. Damn near teared up seeing the back story and how the Hero said the same thing to her as she did to her master. I wish we could see their journey more!

Skelerew

A bit of a weird and random question, but why did Sheera stop saying "Beyond Journey's End" after ep 1 in the intro?

CRuEL_WOrlD

This show is so fyreee man. Shawty hit her with the late night xbox party chat KYS lmfao

Kozmo

That was probably the most hyped I've seen Sheera in quiet a while

Gilthwixt

Y'all have no idea how bad I've wanted this, waiting since the manga chapter dropped 3 years ago. The part where Frieren reveals her actual mana was only a single panel and I even said "This ought to just fill the entire page for dramatic effect" and I'm glad the anime did it justice.

Suki

Aura your life is NOTHING. You serve ZERO purpose. 🌩️

Danny

They briefly explained it but it was easy to miss. Demons CAN suppress their mana. They do it for short periods of times to sneak up undetected on enemies sometimes. But what Flamme was saying is that they don't do it constantly because their mana is tied to their status as a demon. So they are constantly flexing to let other demons know they are strong. Frieren is basically Jcole dressing like a bum not wearing any chains or grills but secretly he's him.

Mathia Chalu

The reason why there aren't so many elves around is because they have been exterminated by demons? Since we have seena a village of elves, is it true that they are not into love or is just Frieren who is kinda apathetic about it as a result of the fact that by constantly suppressing her mana she ends up being tired all the time?(For example, people who suffer from anaemia may consequently end up having little energy and therefore less libido, could this be a similar situation?) English is not my first language, i used a tranlator, i hope what i've written is understandable. Thanks

Gordon Lou

i mean, a bunch of new shows made it to the top 3 or even beat fmab for a bit with just a few episodes before going down. Bleach tybw, the earlier "final" seasons of aot, latest season of kaguya sama love is war all made it that high before going down. So the real test is whether or not frieren can keep its spot.

HessianX

I see your Kung Pow reference Lupa.

Devin B

The concepts in this show are dope and some of it could be translated to real life except for the part about humans dressing up to show their wealth. Nowadays you see people try to buy expensive things to appear wealthy when they're not and the truly wealthy people wear regular clothes because they don't have to prove anything.

Gilthwixt

This is unprompted salt but I just have to say it - I kinda hate that MAL users absolutely refuse to let FMA Brotherhood drop from #1 no matter how good a new series is. It's part of the reason I don't really put much stock in the ratings since it's biased as hell.

GraffitiTurtle

I mean, for the time the show seems to be emulating, it’s accurate. That’s how societies were back then

Gilthwixt

Radiant in Valo talking shit to Silvers in Unranked queue 💀

Gordon Lou

yeah using mana to determine their status is just a core part of their culture and nature. They can't just change it and become a more collectivist society. Just like how humans are bound by their wealth and money which in turn causes the disparity between the rich and the poor, we simply cannot become a society where everyone is equal.

Papa Souls

Hey Rosh, nice ink man! That piece looking real good.

Goldy

Cant believe frieren pulled a "ive been playing since before the beta card"

GraffitiTurtle

It’s more insulting than “die” too lol, like not only do you not give her the satisfaction of a fight but you specifically want her to be the one to do it to herself

Skebaba

Demon King was gigabrain af, when he was like "yo hol up, what if we clap ALL the Elves, who are the only ones who can live as long as we do, and since mana grinding is based on time spent accumulating the pool, it directly correlates to lifespan?", which explains why he specifically told the niggas to clap all elves 1k years ago, since humans would almost never be a threat to them (exceptions being ppl like Aura who have more mana than 100+ year old Frieren or w/e, despite being like 20 or w/e only at the time, but they can still only grindset after that for some 60-70 years at most, and by that point they are likely gonna be shit-tier stats wise to actually do combat, meaning demons can just melee range clap their oldfart dusty bones bodies by that point, as well as their reaction speeds etc getting slower w/ age), and dwarves don't rly use magic that much, even if they can live for centuries (but likely not to the levels of practical immortality that Elves & Demons have), because raw melee combat will never beat an actually fully prepared magic user, which literally all Demons are

Devin B

Yeah, it just goes to show how depending on the time period the nature of humans can change

Jarren Jenkins

Frieren said elves were already in pretty low numbers and an entire village was killed...they rarely reproduce and demons were ordered to kill them all...what's the beef about?

Lea Garrido

I haven’t read the manga but to your guys’ thoughts, I don’t think Frieren taught Fern how to suppress her mana. Remember fern said Heiter could barely tell she was close by at times or something to that effect. Fern was already doing it before she met Frieren. That’s why Heiter said she’d make a good apprentice.

Mad4Life

Just to clarify demons can suppress their mana but only for stealth purposes. It's not that demons can't suppress mana in a fight it's more like they won't.

this is one long ass username

Obviously not saying that it’s unheard of, but it’s still crazy since not many shows could pull it off and both Bleach and Kaguya Sama are already highly popular shows with big fanbases.

Frieren is truly a Low tier god

Hasnain Khan

Yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Cory

Did you mean Flamme, and not Aura? Cause Aura was the demon and the one who saved Frieren was Flamme.

godUsoland

I love how you can see Aura's eyes reflected in the sword against her neck even when the upper part of her face is cut off from view! The fact they factored in the reflection and angle of the sword is incredible!

Erd'na

I don't know if deserved to be that high. Not to disrespect the show but i've read the material before the trailer for anime came out. My biggest issue for Frieren is where the story heading. Sure the group has a destination in mind. But as far where the story is heading, not a single clue where the story is heading for it's conclusion. And before anyone say to me i cannot use the ending as a factor for it's ranking. Sure i can, how many people have notch AOT lower because they didn't like it's ending?

nerolisk

Been a while since I seen sheera get hype like that Frieren truly goated

Vincent S Deluca

I mean 2 of the 4 who beat the Demon King were human lol, it is def statistically higher for Elves to be stronger than Humans for sure tho, like you said they have more time to grind. They also dont use their time as wisely tho because they have so much, a Human like Flamme, Himmel or Heiter will pack more growth into their 80 years than an avg elf into 500. Genius elves like Frieren who spend all that time truly training are def problems tho

lyssa

Bro got donuted 😭

Vincent S Deluca

Just strategy I assume, Elves are so long lived that they are the ones who would come the closest to being able to beat his generals. Sure Humans like Himmel come around but they are pretty rare. But elves can train for FAR longer and would get to that level far more often. Maybe there is more but just logically that makes sense for that reason alone

NecDW4

Low Tier Frieren

StorySmith []

I wonder Frieren spend her time looking for useless spells like seeing theough clothes. She learned combat magic 1000 years ago. Having killed the deamon king At this point she don’t need to improve that any more. Time to expand out the skill set to stuff that doesn’t kill

Argo2Unitard

For all the build-up, I was hoping there would be more this episode than "Freiren hides her mana to tip the scales". Like, she's about 10,000 years old, studied under the best mage ever, and helped defeat the Demon King. We know she's strong. I would have liked maybe some more character stuff to be brought out.

These Plums

You gotta collect all magic. Imagine how embarrassing it'd be if you claim you're the most powerful mage ever and someone askes you to make a snow cone and you can't.

earthphoenix7068

but there was more character stuff. Literally her elven village and Flamme's true power.

JsnSkg

It's only been two minutes and already I'm facepalming so hard lmao. Follow the flow of conversation. She was clearly talking about being more unfair than demons as the dishonor.

NovaVortex

Aura need J.G. Wentworth cause her check bounced and she need that cash to pay her toll for the trip down the river Styx 🤣

Hans Wurst

Cool guys don't look at explosions. Cool elf gals don't look at beheadings.

JsnSkg

Frieren was like, "500 years? That's cute. HOLD MY MANA."

Yehaen

gg, low diff, kys

jordansamuel

Man this show is so good!

Shin splits

Just got warfare purposes probably. Elves live longer meaning there is a higher chance of having stronger fighters

Shin splits

Probably both due to the demon king and elves just naturally have low reproductive tendencies. If you think about in nature animals/creatures with smaller lifespans usually have more offsprings. Elves in this series are so long lived creatures, so they just lacks the urgency to reproduce

Anorak

Whole meat out

Mathia Chalu

But then shouldn't it be rare to see 2 elves together? Frieren is pretty antisocial anyway, and if not for some reason in particular (defeating the demon king, training/taking care of Fern to keep her promise to Heiter, needing someone to fight on the front line, Stark) she has never seemed interested in being in a group. Isn't it strange that a group of individuals with low social skills and low sexual tendencies all come together to form an entire village? I wonder if it wasn't just to ensure a better chance of survival against the demons (despite the outcome we saw)

Diego

Yup we can agree with Sheera Fern making fun of starks small meat will always be in our minds. The disrespect and emotional damage was huge

SoggySoup

The entire build up was character stuff lmfao. Like 75% of this episode.

NJ

I'm glad you guys caught that. Aura got bamboozled and humiliated because she was over-confident, but she wasn't stupid. Another major factor IMO is the fact that Flamme told Frieren to live in obscurity. Not until they kill the Demon King. Because if somehow, Aura caught wind of the name "Frieren" existing a thousand years ago, she'd have been more careful. But she hadn't seen or heard of Frieren till 80 years ago with Himmel's party. It's why Aura severely underestimated her age. Both the mana and reputation were used to trick her.

Ghost_Troupe

No, the dishonor was more about hiding her mana. It's basically disrespectful to all mages for a mage to hide their mana during battle, because it gives an unfair advantage.

Ghost_Troupe

At least he knows she was interested lol. She had no reaction to seeing Frieren's body.

Ghost_Troupe

That's also why everyone thinks that Flamme was just some fairy tale character. She basically hid from the world forever, probably waiting for the chance to kill the demon king.

Random Guy

It's so funny because Aura is trending in social media right now because anime fans are horny

Muricon

Bruh she just pulled the coldest shit. "Lemme just do a light flex then send you a KYS" Frieren is an absolute savage and I love it.

Aziouss

Flammen not making a sound with her attack is impressive.

Turdle

Ha! a mere 500 years?

Oliver

7:52 Nah cap. Flamme's attack did make a sound it was just from a distant there was a deep rumbling and the grass carried the sound wave also when we go back to Flamme and Frieren there is still loud noise from the explosion 7:57. Really love the reaction you guys it was amazing ;)

st

This show was a slow start for me, but it's starting to be one of my favourites. The "kill yourself" was such a satisfying end to the episode, haha.

Random Guy

Petite women are a thing. There are also a lot of asian women who look 10-20 years younger than they actually are.

Leo

This DragonBall Z reference is ridiculous you telling me that aura was looking through her scouter like frieren weak as hell then she dropped her training suit and was like what's up now getting stunted on like that before you off yourself is crazy 🤣.

Argo2Unitard

@earthphoenix7068 it really doesn't. We see her elven village destroyed, but no further information on the culture or what tied her to it other than being an elf. All that scene did was set up power levels. And then the entire rest of that flashback arc was Flamme slowly explaining that she and Freirin are so much stronger than everyone and that Demons, shown to be demonstrably sneaky and conniving, apparently not only don't hide their power for some weird cultural psychology, but don't even consider anyone else would do it.

Ramsses

like Ainz when he put off his ring

Thiivi

The way they made it so obvious where the episode was going, but still managed to make the payoff so satisfying is crazy

ISnatchEdges

tbh i don't even think Fieren unconcealed all of her mana, looks like she did just enough to tip the scales and kill Aura because it tipped gradually as she got closer to Fieren

PolarToni

you were wrong. stop being so condescending when you comment, it's the most annoying thing ever. you're literally paying money to be here - being rude is uncalled for and you're always commenting some stupid stuff like this, it's exhausting.

Peter Lee

C for clapped

Mollywopper

lmao sheera was talking over it and completely missed the mark on that analogy. Flamme was saying demons can temporarily hide their mana the same way a rich person can temporarily sneak out at night in raggedy clothes, but a demon wouldn't suppress their mana 24/7 the same way a rich person wouldn't go live out in the ghetto and drive a beat up used car when they have millions in the bank.

Ebronics

"in a fight, if you ain't cheatin you ain't tryin" - my momma

Rishad GB

"why dont they just learn?" THEY CAN but temporarily they do it cause no demon wants to suppress it forever

Rishad GB

not sheera getting SUPER HYPED asf WHEN THEY SHOWED HER MAN LMAOOOOOOOOOO

Killah_ Raze

fuck men its all about women

baja

I have the same feeling too. She spent all this time training just to deceive them while raising her mana level and conceiling it With no name or glory. She wouldnt just release everything

Baron Salt

I think more than that, Frieren wants to find one spell that makes her happy she knows magic again. She wants to love magic again rather than just go through the motions as she has been for the past few hundred years.

Aglesh

She loves magic, she isn't looking for one spell that make her happy. I don't even know what you are talking about.

JotaroDrake

4:15 YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I SACRIFICED 😂😂😂😂😂
