She's under constant threat of being sent off to the adult facility that they mentioned in episode one unless she behaves. She has to balance what she thinks is right vs. what she needs to do for self preservation. She's been told if she goes against the status quo too much she'll be shipped off to an adult psych ward for supes. Almost no one's choices are their own in this universe under an oppressive organizaton like Vought. Starlight is one of the only supes who has truly rebelled.

Spoilers for the boys comics: In the comics black noir is a homelander clone that is there for insurance In case Homelandr goes crazy and decides to be a super villain. Since Gen V becomes a show that seems to be heavily involved in The Boys, I think that the strongest seeming character in Gen V as rn is Sam that has the same strange cartoonish version of reality that noir had. He might become the new noir after something happens to him on Gen V (that we haven't seen yet). I think that if they connect gen v to The Boys that Sam will be the new noir there for insurance In case Homelander goes crazy. I can delete this if spoils anything, just my drunk theory lmao. I feel like Sam might become the Homelander clone as black noir we have in the comics

It's somewhat messed up that Marie didn't tell everyone that Jordan was the real hero but with everything she wants to achieve, including potentially getting into contact with her sister, she doesn't want to mess it up by going against the school

There doesn't need to be a new Noir, he wasn't even desired by Vought outside of his silent ninja identity. Noir wasn't particularly powerful, he was useful because he obeyed Edgar unquestioningly and never said a word about anything to anyone. He didn't have the vices or weaknesses that the other supes had. But Edgar is no longer in control of Vought (as far as we know) and Sam is definitely way too unstable and mad at Vought to ever work for them in any capacity. He doesn't seem like he can be controlled and they aren't giving him anything he wants, he is strictly a test subject. Don't get too hung up on what happens in the comics, it's all completely different and frankly inferior to the show. The only things they kept were the premise and some basic qualities of the main characters. There is more about Sam and their interests in him in episodes 5 and 6.

Yeah some people seem to able to put themselves in the shoes of all the characters except her. Idk how you can judge a character's actions as if they have full control over what they are doing when she is literally UNDER THE THREAT OF PERMANENT LOCKUP IN A MENTAL ASYLUM. Jordan and Andre and the rest were perfectly content to let that woman bleed out on the club floor to save their skins and no one mentions that. If someone is to be blamed for that interview, it should be Vought, the school, Indira, and Ashley.

Jordan didn't know Marie could stop the bleeding, she was looking out for her friends. She didn't plan to get anyone expelled either, that was all Brink, the only thing she did was reject Marie from crime fighting, which Brink would have done anyways (that's if he wasn't even the person to tell Jordan to do that in the first place.)

You're here talking about Jordan "actually having a moral compass" which implies that Marie doesn't, and I just gave you an example of Marie saving someone who was about to die as a result of supes taking drugs and being irresponsible with their powers. No matter how you want to slice it, Jordan valued their life more than a civilian and DEFINITELY valued it more than owning up and doing the right thing. Marie's situation is not nearly as black and white as you want it to be. If she goes against Vought and the school too much, she has been told she will be carted off to a psych ward and never seen by anyone ever again. With the information she has available to her now, she shouldn't trust anyone. And yeah, Jordan is a victim too, a victim of Vought and Brink. That doesn't mean the situation isn't complex or that Jordan hasn't done fucked up things too.

If you're discussing Jordan's virtue in the context of this episode then it doesn't make sense to not reference Marie "betraying" them in the interview, which is what a lot of people were hung up about. If you say "Jordan is one of the better people in the show" then that inherently is comparing them to other people, and Marie is one of the main characters to compare them to. You imply Marie is not doing the right thing in the interview, but there is no right thing, the situation is just fucked. Regardless, Jordan's hands are not clean in all of this either, even though they mean well and generally want to protect people. There's a lot more to be revealed, not sure if you've seen episode 5 or 6.

They weren't paralyzing Sam, they were doing a spinal tap so they could get spinal fluid. With a normal person they wouldn't use a mallet to insert the syringe but he has tough skin because of his powers. It would almost be like getting blood from Superman.

The writing in this show is excellent. One underrated nuisance is the rebrand of the university from God-U to Godolkin University because Vought being exposed for making the Supes and the Supes not being "God's gifts" anymore.
