Mackenyu has Zoro's stoicism down pact but when it comes to portraying emotional scenes like this one he did kind of fell flat. Zoro has very few emotional scenes throughout the story but those scenes including this one do require a high degree of emotional portrayal.

Crazy thing is Mackenyu can actually do emotional scenes but he mostly does it in Japanese. This is one of the first roles where he had to do it in English

I ain't gonna lie. I should have watched this episode on my own. this one of the very small few times where the constant laughing and joking was distracting. I love your guys reaction but I felt like it was a bit much. that's just my own personal take tho. this episode was great tho. I love how they laid out the mihawk fight. they did a great job with this

what's hilarious about your reactions compared to RT TV is that it's the complete opposite. they clowned on the show almost the whole time, but they thought that Zoro scene at the end was one of the best parts lmao

Rt tv is pretty trash.. very unprofessional. Missing reactions on Patreon and they purposefully hold fans of certain series on their Patreon by uploading eps like once or twice month and waiting. I subbed to them for one month and unsubbed after a week. Can't compare those clowns to the goated trio at yaboyroshi.

The Zoro moment in this episode may have been the only one that truly felt off to me. The fight itself was great, and the tone of the overall episode was enjoyable. Y'alls commentary had me rolling

Yeah I'm not into it either. The actor did a fine job, but the only thing Arlong is really good for is being a giant shark man who can beat the crap out of Luffy. It's not like that character has much to latch onto outside of being 9 feet tall and looking like a Ninja Turtles boss.

I agree that part of the reason is that. But also it is also because live action makes it much cornier seeing real people say these lines. Its not just the language. Avatar the Last Airbender was english and the voice actors did their job perfectly. They had really intense and exaggerated lines and voice acting. And then look at the live action...though to be fair that live action was a different level of bad. This One Piece Live action definitely did it much better than any live action (I currently can think of at least). But once again, live actions aren't meant to be able to replicate anime or cartoon. Especially a show as goofy as One Piece. Shows like Death Note or Vinland Saga had a possibility of being a decent live action...but they somehow screwed Death Note up anyway. So I just don't think its worth it anymore to adapt a live action from an anime or any animation show.

Part Filipino and Scottish/Irish here, and both sides of my family like them some corned beef (it's a big breakfast staple for Visayan's and the Irish enjoy it in general) and my wife's family (Samoan) loves corned beef hash like no ones business. It ain't remotely an exclusively black thing 😂

Also, while the casting has been great for the entirety of the show, Sanji's actor seems far and away the most compelling of the strawhats. Might be because he's the oldest actor of the main crew, or perhaps because he has the most relatable material to pull from (tragic backstory aside), but I love it every time the dude is on screen and chewing the scenery with Zeff or Zoro.

Among the main crew nami's actor is actually the oldest but yeah sanji, nami, zeff, buggy have been the best actor/acting-wise in the show imo. Usopp is alright and Luffy has moments like in this episode. So far Zoro acting-wise (imo) has been the weakest but tbf based on the source material zoro's character is literally just "be cool".

ngl everything was great, but when zoro gave his speech kinda uhhh idk gave me cringe, considering this is the first time in the show that I felt cringe is great tho. i loved how the anime and manga did his speech tho it was great.
