Roshi i think demon slayer 3x1 is tagged wrong can't find it in demn slayer folder

Anonymous

Just started this series with them and it's pretty fun so far! Have they mentioned if they are watching Slime movie?

JsnSkg

Reminds me of when Kotomine Kirei killed Tohsaka Rin's dad and was like, "Damn, sorry for your loss. I guess I'll take you under my wing."

Umbra_Nex

I heard that in the books, Shadow wears a mask. It makes way more sense why people dont realize its Cid if thta is the case. No idea why the anime has no mask if so. Its so silly his face is clearly there xD

Devin B

Thus guy is definitely up there when it comes to trash dads but no one is topping Shou Tucker from FMA.

Random Guy

in the novel, he did not have a mask. In the manga he did. We can only tell its him because we are looking as 3rd party but in reality its going to be hard to tell its him because. 1.) His eyes either glow purple or red 2.) His voice becomes deeper 3.) His posture changes 4.) His demeanor changes 5.) He only goes out when its dark out, so its harder to see whats under the hood. 6.) Everything he does is flashy so you are more drawn towards his actions rather than his face.

JsnSkg

Um, he didn't stab her in the face. That was the torso. Lol.

Andrew L

I just took it after a while that the hood had some magic face concealment properties.

Kurumi

Perfect timing once again 😭 just got food

ThatOneGuy

I doubt they will anytime soon the season is packed maybe next year when season 3 of slime rolls around

Umbra_Nex

I think the discovery that the person you loved as a father turned out to be the one who killed your mom, and he doesnt actually care about you and was using you the whole time would be way more damaging to her than thinking that some shadowing villain killed them both. First one would probably break her completely and make her lose her will to live, while the second gave her purpose and drive (albeit at the cost of her gunning for you)... so Im pretty sure thats why Cid let her think he (Shadow) was a murderer. It was ultimately better for her, even though it still sucked massively

2023-04-28 01:34:32 Cid said that he will accept all the guilt in the world and that wouldn't stop him from what he needs to do. It might be an inconvenience for Sherry to potentially try and go after Shadow Garden but that's not an issue to Cid. Plus it might be more traumatic for her to realize her father figure was the one that killed her mom.

Rony

When cid asked her what she plans to do she should have pulled a sasuke “What I have is not a dream because I will make it a reality,Im going to restore my clan and destroy a CERTAIN SOMEONE”🤣

Anonymous

Yeah it's definitely jam packed! Thanks for the response. Didn't hear anything and saw it was finally on CrunchyRoll the other day 🤙

Guns

What’s worse is that Cid killed her “father” the exact same way the “father” did to her mom. So now it seems like this Shadow Garden figure was the one who killed her mother too…

Nick

not to mention you now know you aided a criminal in their schemes all your life lol. but I still feel like Cid said just because it's actually extremely cliche

Oliver

Not saying it not here but he should re tag it so others won't have problems

ShyGuy

It is tagged, but you have to scroll all the way down since season 1&2 got reuploaded

Daniel Borrego

ok, just so you know, the next episode is kinda boring and nothing happens. but after that it gets increasingly awesome

Danneth

11/17 reaction, will be back tmrw

Invader Rin

@Random Guy I'm literally reading the official light novel release right now. It says he's wearing a magician's mask.

Alexander Szabo

Not telling Sherry is better imo, because now she has a purpose to live. To end Shadow. If he had told her "oh your dad actually killed your mother, so now you have no family and no one to lean against". She'd probably have killed herself.

Hasnain Khan

Yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Giovanni

You guys were the first I saw to notice that the Father realized Shadow was Cid right when he killed him, due to him knowing how Sherry's mother was killed. In the book it was very obvious, but in the anime it was kinda brushed off.

Darion Wilson

Welp 11 more AMAZING episodes to go!!!

Kingmakaii

Nah Roshi right kill the whole bloodline 😭

Zee Wrld

no you guys removed the outro again

Devin B

@C0nspiracy I didn't really consider him a father figure but yeah he's definitely the worst I've seen

Gene Ryan

Cid truly cares about nothing other than power and being 'The Eminence in Shadow'. He couldn't care less that his organization has been blamed for everything nor that Sherry is going to try to avenge her parents. He doesn't think that far ahead and when it comes back to bite him he'll likely think it's fun anyway. He's a garbage narcissistic human which is why this is so fun.

Cameron Robinson

Cid ain’t worried about Sherry. He worried about her plot for revenge since he’s Shadow. Cid probably think there’s a great character moment for Shadow to have a main character swearing revenge on him.

Tsunami Wave

Yeah as a whole his organization is destroying an evil cult, but he's not a good person or trying to be. He's doing whatever the hell he thinks is cool and fun, even if that ruins lives in the process.

KeYo

yeahhhh idk that felt wrong because she went through trauma of losing both parents the same way and now she might get revenge and find out its cid and go through trauma again? unless she gonna go find out the truth about her so called dad

Panda

"He's doing whatever the hell he thinks is cool and fun, even if that ruins lives in the process." This isn't entirely true, cid actively takes effort in minimalizing damage. The towns evac earlier was a great example of this.

JayJay

Just because he just cares about power doesn't mean he still isnt doing good things. Its like youtubers giving away money to gain more fans, although gaining fans is the motive people still get money

Sauce Sorcerer

I NEED THE SINISTER OUTRO PLEASE

Jose silva

what happen to oregairu reaction ?

Reya

Honestly I think Cid didn't tell the truth was because to give her a purpose in life, revenge. Had she known, she would just had to deal with the trauma of finding out her father who she thought loved her, killed her mom and used her. She probably would've just killed herself thinking she has no reason to live. Also when she left the school, she said she had no reason to stay there no more and so she went to another school to get better education and plan a way to take down shadow instead of taking her life.

Nonkin

Excepting that the main guy who got all the details went out of his way to not "tarnish his memory" for /some/ reason. He's so practical and extra that it's weird when he chooses to not to take that extra step.

Nonkin

"Cid" doesn't make an attempt to minimize damage. That's Shadow Garden. Cid is their lord who can do no wrong in their eyes, when without them, he'd "just" be a walking WMD.

Kisuke01

Sheera said this episode is horny just wait for epsiode 13. One of the reasons I'm sick of any kind of Ecchi in an Amime.

Jelly123354363562345

I am gonna need sheera to turn aimbot off the sharingan

Arc

I'm glad you still bring up Arcane. We should be getting a trailer for Season 2 in a couple of months.

MC

Okay watched both the anime and manga, and honestly they made it really obvious in the anime. Honestly, the anime could've been better :( They actually hint too much on the anime

Nabi

nooooo the outro lol

Zeklo

I get the 'gives her purpose' arguments, but with the kind of anime this is. Sherry will chase a revenge that's impossible. Unless Cid decides it'll make for an epic conclusion to Shadow, Sherry's new purpose in life will never be achieved. That's hardly a mercy.

Joe Michael

Damn roshi you’re trying to kill that girl. Lmao No Loose Ends I feel it

Kisuke01

My biggest problem with the Anime is how they make shadow out to be the Villain especially in the final episode

CatchThisNut

I see a lot of folks, including Sheera, not understanding the character of Shadow

KingC

Lupa, that digimon comment didn't go unnoticed. I laughed and thought the same thing.

Ice

I see you backseating. Kindly stop commenting.

3rddynasty

Cid straight up doesn't care about anything other than looking cool and living out his double life fantasy.

PeachBrune

I think its a weird sticking point for this show cause you want to believe Shadow gives a shit about the details of whats going on with each character, but seemingly he really doesn't outside of his whims at least at this point ( idk plot details about future stuff). I don't see him heavily considering Sherry's position in this whole act other than the face was used. So he did the cleanup job and moves on to let them sort out their own issues. Obviously shadow is not supposed to be a realistic character but in the mindset of " This shit got nothing to do with me, I'm out" you can understand a least a little why he just leaves members of shadow garden and most of the other characters to their own devices outside of when he's gathering info etc. As a viewer it seems like you're not supposed to agree with shadow and he causes a lot of perceptions about him by being dumb, but that's just his character i guess

JsnSkg

Not sure how that's backseating. He's literally just making an accurate observation.

Alex Omega

"Cid doesn't care about anything other than looking cool and living out his double-life fantasy." This comment sums up the main reason why I'm not fond of this character at all. I quickly lost interest in Cid after this episode and I instead see more from the secondary characters like Alpha, Iris, or Gamma than him, to be honest. Yeah, he got extraordinary powers but the character to me is not interesting enough to care about him, unlike other powerful characters like Aniz, Anos, or Rimuru.

Peacefinder Simply

Ecchi? There is some ecchi moments, but this barely qualifies as ecchi. Maybe that says more about what I’ve watched lol.

Pucci

That statement is literally the premise of this show. Not sure why people expect a more ulterior motive or development when this show is basically satire/parody.

L.C.

Then fuck off. No one is asking you to watch this series.

Alex Omega

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the problems with Cid as a character in the comment section too. It doesn't matter if this show is a satire/parody they could still write a better character. There are well-written characters in other satire/parodies in different media like Saitama from One Punch Man. Cid could still be a well-written character in the later episodes but FOR NOW, he feels very hollow to me as a character.

Neutr0n

Cid's a clown and I find it funny to watch him interact with the rest of the world. The show takes itself seriously when it's not focusing on Cid, and takes the piss when it does focus on him

Dyastro

She's killing herself with this pointless endeavor tho. You think she wouldn't give up her life to achieve the goal? The same thing happened, but instead of giving her a chance to actually find purpose; she now feels obligated to dedicate her life to revenge (as she probably thinks that someone is specifically after her now). I rather have no purpose (with the chance to still find a new one) then to work so hard for a damn lie.

Nick

that's a very holistic and surface level view of Cid's character. It's no different than saying all shonen MC's want to do is "get stronger (or become the strongest) and protect their friends". Cid has many more sensibilities and traits that can be further broken down. Because he's actually a very unique character in the anime space. As you typically can't find many characters that act like him and the only ones close to are typically side characters. You bring up Aniz, Anos and Rimuru but these are all very linear characters. Ainz and Rimuru are about as bog standard as they come there is nothing unique about them. Anos has your default op protag with high confidence set up. Which we haven't actually gotten a lot of since the fall of battle harem or battle school harem animes. Cid has much more uniqe traits to him than any of those characters. So to say Cid isn't "well-written" but those are would have to be an objective lie. Maybe you just don't like Cid's character, that's fine. Also to clarify the idea that Cid cares for "no-one" is false. It's just not as intently as most and he's no very expressive or dramatic when showing affection or sadness.

Ougi

"Not understanding" as if there's enough substance to his character to grasp beyond the surface level lmao. Yall fans keep trying to make cid out to be a really deep and well written character but also get mad at others when they try reading too deep into it cus it's a gag show.

CatchThisNut

Not sure why you're grouping me with "fans" that argue Cid to be a well written character, and making the assumption that I would get mad when others read too deep into him. I also haven't claimed any 'substance' to Cid beyond the 'surface level'(whatever that means). It's been adequately explained the kinds of beliefs and values Cid holds for the character of Shadow; he clearly states what he cares- and doesn't care for. Failing to understand why he makes certain decisions in accordance to his philosophy, as Sheera and others in the comment section have done, shows a lack of understanding of who he is and what he stands for regardless of whether his character is 'deep' or not.

SK8 GEEK

He isnt a Villain, he is the justice in the night He simply doesnt care if ppl see him as good or evil.

TheDroppedFry

L.C. Listen, people can make criticisms of a show. I very much enjoy the show and the main character, but the OP makes some very valid points. The only way you can truly enjoy a show is when you accept both the praise and criticism in equal measure and end up still enjoying the content.

Overlord_Ashalon

The anime doesn't make it clear but he does realize that Shadow is Cid right before he dies.

The Law_v1001

The thing is though. Is this allows her to believe she was loved and give a focused hatred. Plus if some random dude killed your dad and told you the truth. Would you believe him?

Arturo

So kid Sherry didn't turn around and see him 🤨
