Having lived for 200 yrs at least, 40 years is a lot for someone to lose connections and awareness. Also, when he lived mainly in small groups of people (March and Parona's village, Gugu with the elders and the kid at the beginning were isolated and the place where we first saw Tonari was not a regular society) plus when he decided to live in the city, he kept things as superficial as possible. He hasn't had enough life experience to know the complexity of humans yet. But this is for now.

Yeah, I agree. There is a branch of Buddhism that is exactly about that.

I’m pressed that Fushi gave Rein the dog’s name

Mist

Bons whole stance clean shaved reminds me of Okabe from Steins Gate for some reason

Vayne

happy that fushi finally starting to have a plan or a direction he wants to go. seeing him aimlessly wander was too depressing

Damn Lupa is leaking this episode

J Man

Woah, he looks like purple haired Dio now. Especially since his VO is Dio's voice actor

Chavo Guerrero was a fun character to add to the show. He slapped the hell out of Tasty Peach 🍑

I kind of get why Bon spazzed out on Todo earlier. He had this certain image of his dream girl that didn't fit how Todo actually is so when he put 2 and 2 together in that moment he was disgusted that his dream allowed herself to be treated in such an undignified manner by him. At least he realized that he was bugging.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that teared up at that Bon x Chabo x Todo scene. Shit was too wholesome for this anime 😭

Fushi: "I'm not smart enough to do anything clever" Also Fushi: Proceeds to execute the greatest plan he ever came up with.

Oliver

He said that he had help from Kahaku he was the one with the idea for the poison

I'm a bit disappointed that, that was the nokkers goal, it seems kind of generic and a bit underwhelming. I wish they either thought of something better or just kept it ambiguous, but I understand once you have a mortal enemy like that for so long with no clear goal, you're going to have to come up with something.

like u guys mentioned in the past episode it is incredibly annoying how naive fushi is when he is literally hundreds of years old, like how? its not bcuz he spent a while on the island bcuz that was only like 40yrs or so.

It sounds like the nokkers perceive the problem as being "energy being torn from their world to become souls in this one". With it being ever more egregious if those souls never return after their body dies. The nokkers that haven't learned to speak and reason currently are diametrically opposed to Fushi's existance. I suspect that the man in black might be the same species / object type as Fushi... and Fushi is his latest offspring attempt? This seems to be a long held (one sided?) grudge between the factions.

I'm not a huge fan of this reveal either.  That being said, we need to keep in mind that we're essentially taking the Nokker at its word.  Kohaku's little arm gremlin could be lying, confused, or only telling us about part of the plan.  Heck, we don't even know if the Nokkers are a unified force. Up until now, I was under the impression that Nokkers were either mindless or hive minded.  It could be lying, but when Fushi asked if the other Nokkers were watching, it said, "They might be."  This leads me to believe that Nokkers have individuality after all. Although the Black One's commentary makes this reveal seem legit, he didn't sound 100% certain. Perhaps there's more to the story than we think?

It's the Gnostic belief that the flesh is a prison for the soul, and we've been trapped here on earth by some evil god, and death is actually freedom. From a western perspective, it might not add up, but it makes more sense in Eastern theology.
