You’re tripping, they revealed exactly as much as was revealed in the manga. The full backstory is only revealed later in the final Dabi vs Shoto fight.

toya's death was something that always haunted endeavor. if u recall at the end of s5, there was a scene of endeavor praying at a shrine for toya.

I honestly didn’t know who Dabi was until I saw fan theories about him being Toya and that’s how them possibly being the same person came to mind for me. The anime did Endeavor and Shoto freaking out and losing it so well! Endeavor hyperventilating and Shoto crying while shouting! Shoto calling Endeavor “Dad” literally made me cry! He never calls him “Dad”…he calls him “Father”. In fact, that moment y’all saw in the episode when Toya/Dabi jumped down at them to attack, Shoto called him “Father” instead of “Dad”. I really wasn’t expecting him to call Endeavor “Dad”.

As much as I hate Endeavor and how he was given "a redemption arc" despite everything, I did really like how this showed him. Yeah, he was awful to his kids. To his wife. But him being proud of Touya. Him thinking Touya could be someone great- better than him. Him being absolutely crushed when he got to the mountain and it was on fire and his oldest son was "dead". You can see how it broke him. The touch of him clearly hyperventilating is also really good. As much as I hate him (as a "person"), Endeavor is a well written character.

Hawks having been saved by Endeavor isn't all that random when you remember Endeavor has resolved more cases than anyone, INCLUDING All Might (though All Might may have saved more people by handling larger scale disasters, while Endeavor more or less kept to his territory). And being saved/inspired by a Hero is a pretty common "reason I want to be a Hero" In a way, Hawks is the vindication of Endeavor's work as a Hero, which is probably why Dabi hates him so much. If "Heroes hurt their families to help complete strangers," Keigo was a stranger Endeavor saved, and Touya was the family Enji hurt.

Jsyk, that translation's misleading- Shouto calls him "oyaji" (="old man") as he usually does. He is talking to him directly, which he usually avoids, and begging for him to move, so the sentiment is there, but Shouto is still speaking pretty rudely lol Comparatively Natsuo refers to his dad just as "aitsu" (="him") which is even MORE rude, while Fuyumi and Touya call him "otousan" (="dad")- probably because as we see in this episode's flashbacks, the two oldest kids remember a time when he actually was a decent dad.

Although with everything popping off right now even if the animation isn't top tier its still good enough to really enjoy everything going on right now. I don't know why you need to ask to begin with. Start out season 6 if you actually care about hopping back on if you don't than don't worry about it

Ok not gonna lie but this was not that surprising of a reveal, based on the way Dabi was acting toward shoto and endeavor it was heavily suggested he is their family. Unless they meant the best jeanist stuff but did anyone believe he was dead? Typically shows dont off screen kill big characters so the genuine rule is if you dont see the body they are alive.

I think specific quirks trigger specific urges when the quirk has certain conditions that need to be met. Toga's needs blood to function and so her biology sways her into desiring blood and then her personal experiences and environment mix and meld with that urge making her become this yandere psycho. Fatgum's quirk only works when his body is fat, so I would assume ever since childhood he had this urge to eat food way more than normal because his biology revolves around his body needing it to be fat. Tokoyami is an edge lord goth who prefers being in the dark because his quirk is darkness based. Same can probably be said about Kuroiiro ( The shadow kid in class B ). The one dog police man that talked to Deku, Todoroki and Iida always ending his sentences with woof despite being a human being. Certain quirks trigger certain traits and ticks in a person in different ways. However, I don't think it applies to every single person. There are people who seem very normal ( by anime standards anyway ) with no personality quirks that relate to their powers, like Mirio, Iida, Ochako, Sero, Mineta, Aizawa and the like.

Man, I feel so bad for the whole Todoroki family. The Todoroki drama honestly is one of the highlights of the entire series and all the characters are so well written. I feel bad for Enji, but hey, he had it coming. I love that he's a changed man. I love that he's moving forward with his family the best way they can with the trauma he inflicted on all of them. I love that now his entire rep is being exposed and I like that he's reacting appropriately. I don't even think he cares about his reputation at this point. Seeing the son he clearly loved ( despite the bs selfishness of getting a wife to make a baby for his petty shit against All Might ) alive right there and that panic attack made me feel so bad for him and it's only gonna get worse from here on.

Yeah, I remember them saying having designer children wasn't illegal but very frowned upon. Bein' a manga reader here, I do remember the details of their personal relationship so I do know she wasn't tricked into it but she was forced into it with the arranged marriage. No people, that's not a spoiler. Todoroki spoke about it to Deku during the sports festival with Enji using his money to get Rei's family to give her up for an arranged marriage.

I really wouldn't say "forced"- she agreed to the arrangement to help her parents, but it was pretty clearly a choice she made. Also Enji was a kind of awkward (probably) 21 year old, with no parents (his dad dead for sure, mom is never mentioned), who'd only been a pro for 2-3 years and #2 for less than one. He was almost certainly not in a position to throw money around lol
