remember, fiends are devils that just took over corpses. power was the blood devil, so when she saw a corpse she just decided to take it over. last episode it was mentioned that she has very high reasoning and comprehension, and from the other fiend we saw, we can assume that most fiends are rapid-like. i would think that devils or fiends in general have higher intelligence the stronger they are. and with denji, he’s still human. he just can turn into the “chainsaw devil”

Denji IS human, he can just turn into a devil. Power is a fiend, which is a devil that possessed a corpse. So she isn't human at all, she just has somewhat of a human personality due to the corpse she took over.

It's a pretty simple way to scale things. But there are also some interesting ways such a simple power scaling could be applied depending on the concept. Also, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but notice Makima doesn't say that it's specifically limited to "humans being afraid" it's just fear of a particular thing makes the devil that represents that thing stronger.

Let them enjoy the show as it happens, it's such a short series that every spoiler matters. I think something the anime gets really right are the more tender moments. Having an ost and really “seeing” the emotions makes the Meowy and Pochita stuff much sadder. Idk how I’ll be able to handle the rest of the story. Seeing Power and Meowys origin story made me wanna cry 😭😂
