So the gun at 38:40 is a Mauser C96 "broomhandle" pistol, a German pistol introduced in 1896. Although the C96 was mainly carried by German officers during WW1, high ranking British officers carried them as well, namely Winston Churchill. The detachable wooden stock gave the C96 the stability of a carbine, and doubled as a holster to take up less space in storage. A fully automatic version of the C96 was invented sometime before WW2, but I don't think it was this early, so Tommy's basically just holding a pistol with a shoulder stock.

Damn what an episode, so many things to comment about. (1.) They got Adrien Brody for this season? Season about to be fire. (2.) Nah I ain't fucking with this. So you telling me Polly got an attitude with Tommy when she fucked up just as much or even worse then he did? And she got the audacity to act smug lol? She went from A tier character to C tier for me. (3.) My thoughts exactly, say SIKE right now man. No fucking way. John has to be dead, still have hope for Michael though. Esme is rightfully pissed, but wtf man. TIME AND PLACE! (4.) Best first episode of all the seasons so far, seems like it could be the best season yet. I'm fucking hyped.

I love y'all but the Linda and Polly slander (from last season) is a lot. Like Linda has a whole family with a child with Arthur because during the time they met he wanted out of the game and now especially he's literally someone who almost got killed because of Tommy. Arthur wanted to keep things lowkey. He never wanted to cross Billy Kimber, he didn't want to deal with the russians and he didn't want to kill Changreta the way Tommy did. Now he's received a death threat because of John's actions. Linda may be super puritan but she's also valid in saying he needs to stay out of the Shelby family business for the sake of his family/kid. She's not without fault, but she's also not without reason. (And yeah that's Adrien Brody, the dude from 'The Pianist')

Alright now that we've reached this episode I can hype up Gangs of London a bit more. The main character is played by the dude who plays John and another character is played by the woman who plays Catelyn Stark. The main writer/director is the dude who directed The Raid Redemption...the series is amazing and I highly HIGHLY recommend reacting to it.

I think what you're trying to say is none of this would have happened if Tommy didn't start trying to take over the world and dragging his whole family into it. Campbell, the Priest, Alfie, Kimber, Zabini, and all the other Italians are at war with the Peaky Blinders because of Tommy's ambition. And his inability to tell his family a thing about the stuff he gets them involved in. Also, Luca wouldn't have come for vengeance if they killed the wife too? What sense does that make?

It makes perfect sense given this is the early 1900’s and the New York mafia wouldn’t have known about what the Peaky Blinders did and who was involved if the wife hadn’t gone home and told them.. they didn’t have phones that could reach other countries at that time 💀

1) other than polly's confession, every big leak has been from Tommy. Season 1 he gave it up to Grace for poon. Season 3 he told Grace what he was doing for poon. And finally, he brought good old Alfie in and told him his entire plan, just to get double crossed. Telling his family would not be doing more damage than he is already. 2) "Hey Luca, I hear your whole family in England is dead, what happened?" "Idk, let's go over and find out." "Oh, they were beefing with the Peaky Blinders before they died, well 1+1=2." It's not that complicated.

Shit is disgusting though, they copied the raw emotions of the victims' families in court and on TV without their permission or consultation, and with no compensation. From what I've read, the families don't like it and it has to be fucking awful to relive even a moment of that shit through a dramatization. Just because something can be made doesn't mean it should be, and I imagine this is a perfect outcome for a lot of self-absorbed killers: endless rememberance through your story being retold with actors and a dramatized script. I don't think we should be giving them that satisfaction.

If yall wanted to know what the weapon tommy was using is its a Mauser C96 a semi-automatic pistol that was originally produced by German arms manufacturer Mauser from 1896 to 1937. Its quite an interesting weapon with the way thr holster for the weapon could be added as a stock to it. It actually loads from the top of the gun through a sort of rail system.

Crazy how one small egotistical act of Tommy threatening the old man's son continues to have this much of a domino effect.
