Polly confession to the priest made her go to jail. She confessed to killing a policeman. It was known around the police station what Campbell did to Polly and that he had a personal vendetta against Thomas and the Peaky Blinders. So her going to jail isn’t on Tommy necessarily. But Tommy knew they were going to jail and still went ahead with the plan without telling them, because he does what he wants because he can.

Them dog piling on Pol for the confession thing and instantly assuming she was the source of the leak…like these pesky boys are so airtight and careful and restrained. They’re drunk 24/7, spend most of their time making fresh enemies by murdering and fucking…but Pol (an older Irish woman who assumed this ONE thing was actually truly sacred) is the villain of the season for going to confession for actually feeling guilty? Uh, y’all, Lizzie told us that Tommy literally gave her the vault code in his sleep. Arthur murdered a kid in the ring (and I’m sure THAT will never come back to bite them). John started a war with the Italians for next to no reason, other than feeling full of himself (and that…THAT definitely isn’t coming back, nope nope, not at all). Oooh, but Polly?! She went to confession once, how could she be so stupid and irresponsible?!

they haven't seen the consequences of Arthur's and John's fuckups yet. Pol's fuckup had immediate consequences, getting Tommy's head caved in. The only reason you're even thinking this is bc you've watched the next season, so you already know what's happening and why. Also you're trying to downplay it like, "ah she only went to confession once, what's it matter?!" yeah, she went to confession and told a PRIEST that a PRIEST was about to be killed. That's probably the ONE situation you SHOULDN'T go to confession for.

Arthur's and John's past actions will come back to bite them, but you cannot deny that Polly's actions in this seasons were not reckless and stupid. Confessing to a priest that another will get killed was the most absurd thing I have ever seen she did, like what would she expect to get from that? The priest would somehow pardon not the sin she had committed, but the one she was about to? Murdering? And killing a fellow holy man on top of that?

Man I hope at one point Tommy or someone fucking mentions that fact that Polly talked to that one priest. Because that's one of the LEADING causes of all this bullshit happening right now. Like I don't like the fact that it hasn't even been mentioned yet, hopefully they bring it up next season.

The only thing that happened as a consequence of Polly talking to that priest is Tommy getting his skull cracked and his assassination attempt failed. Yes, failing to Hughes when he meant to did fuck up future plans. But Alfie likely still would have betrayed him, as well as the Russians, landing them all in jail anyway.

Firstly I realize its not all on Polly, which is why I said "one of". But her telling the priest something, like you said fucked up the future plans. It had a HUGE snowball effect. The guy would've been dead, so Tommy's kid getting adopted wouldn't have happen, his brothers wouldn't have to kill those people at the train station, as well as Micheal killing the priest. Therefore they wouldn't have the reasons they do NOW to arrest them. Like I said I realize it ain't all on her, but she is ONE OF THE MAJOR reasons this is all going down. As a viewer I'd really appreciate if she got confronted about it. Not to mention at the end of the episode, Polly is kind of eyeing tommy down, almost as if she is judging/blaming him. Polly this is your fault too!! Take some accountability lol

How the fuck are they supposed to view Polly's fuck up in the context of John and Arthur's fuck ups that don't come back to bite the group til season 4, while they're only in season 3? Polly told the priest two episodes before this one and the fallout was immediate. John and Arthur let Mrs. Changretta go three episodes ago with absolutely no apparent repercussions at this point in the show, neither did Arthur killing that kid amount to anything yet, and that was a pretty minor plot point one and a half seasons before this episode, when you're at S3E6, that's half of the entire fucking show ago for you... Sure you kept that in mind when you were at the season 3 finale on your first watchthrough, yeah right... Also: Lizzie never said anything about Tommy giving her the combination to the safe in his sleep. Lizzie doesn't say that line, Esme does, joking about the apparent rumours of Lizzie fucking Tommy. The show doesn't actually reveal how Lizzie got the code. Seems like you misunderstood that scene just like they did.
