Ending kinda shows you one of the reasons why Ainz tends to follow what his subordinates say.. if all of the Floor Guardians became mad at Ainz or started to view him differently because of the things he was doing they could mop him (one on one would be a bit different story).. I never thought I’d feel some chest pains with Zanac’s death, dude didn’t deserve that 🙏🏽

Zanac originally came off as the stereotypical second born royal kid. Jealous and scummy, quickly through out the series they show he's a sceamer but not necessarily bad. Then this season the quickly show, yeah he's the kind of king you want. Zanac, just like the Emperor, knew what time it was and was willing to relinquish power to save their people. Problem was Zanac didn't have the authority.

Ainz is from slum and his mum died from overwork, in his original world children dying on street was normal, even one of his guild member was killed by megacorporation, so for him the world was always cruel. That is why he is obsessed about making Nazaric stronger, so that no one can hurt the people he loves.

To clarify, the corporations that run everything make sure that Virtual Consoles are affordable for several reasons such as they can watch what you play and buy and look up via the headsets. And the people in that world just accept it because at least for these moments you are able to feel some escapism. Considering his planet was dying, the rain and air are toxic, merciless corporations run everything and even the most basic education are kept out of reach there's really not much to look forward to besides these games. Suzuki(Ainz) at least was provided some books handed down through his family which is where he learned as much as he could. Of course I understand how his worldview is so cruel and his version of mercy really differs from our world's.

Zanac was a real one!. In the LN the conversation was so enlightening that Ainz even stopped for a second and questioned whether to continue the war. That's how much respect he had for Zanac; almost the same as Gazef. The nobles, literally sealed the Kingdom's doom by betraying the only man left Ainz respected.

You have to keep in mind that the world that Ainz grew up in was horrible. Someone posted earlier some things about Ainz's Earth. Mega corps rule everything. Education is nonexistent unless you're rich or have major connections. People can't even breathe the air without artificial lungs, nor can you see the sky (day or night) b/c the air is so toxic and polluted. And the air has been that bad for so long that people don't even remember what the natural sky actually looked like. They only know kind of what it looked like because of the descriptions and pictures in books or from stories passed down through the families. Life is treated as trash unless you are a higher up in one of those mega corps. There was no freedom of speech or any natural rights for people. It was terrible.

Remember guys, Death is a mercy in Nazarick. Ainz was absolutely furious, lol, his voice was so good, absolutely seething with rage. Also, Zanac was never a piece of crap. He just had a nasty face expression all the time. We have mostly seen him when he was talking to Princess Renner who he knows is basically fricken Evil. So that is why his facial expressions made him look like a bad guy, since he had to deal with that monster of a little sister, lol. Zanac was a good guy, he actually cared about his people and wanted to improve the Kingdom. It was the eldest Prince that was an idiot and a complete piece of crap, who literally got himself killed even though the King tried to send him to a place where it would be safe, during the War with Baharuth Empire.

I wouldn't say second. For me it goes Shalltear, Albedo and then Mare. Shalltear can legit solo the other floor guardians all at once if I remember correctly. Albedo is a literal damage sponge, her HP is so high along with her defensive stats she'd just tank hits and get in close. We've never seen her fight (anime-only) but there's a reason she commands the other floor guardians. Though if we talking straight power. Her sister Rubedo would destroy them all, no questions. She isn't even a floor guardian too.

This was another one of those awesome sections of story which helps showing how Perspective changes things. Zanacs goal and ideal was always to become king and make his kingdom respectable, but we see him first as the conniving second prince, and here we get to see what kind of king he would be.
