That trailer is more her fantasizing about what's gonna happen rather than what actually will, she kinda summarized what every shounen final arc looks like with the final boss being taken on the whole cast. Its a part of her characterization, keep it mind for the rest of the season, her love for weeb shit like that was also shown in Bakemonogatari with her and Araragi making a bunch of referrences in their convos.

I typed up a long comment about how the books make it clear this arc was about Nadeko threatening to commit suicide for attention, but it got marked as spam and deleted. Oh well. That's what the arc is about, for anyone who cares. She was metaphorically "slitting her wrists" during Bake and this is the sequel to that. The anime cut out a few lines that piece the whole thing together, for censorship reasons.

what you mean? The anime doesnt paint it well but this is her character since day 1. A selfish self absorbed girl whos obsessed with araragi to the point she was even going to go as far as threatening to commit suicide to get him to be with her and give her attention. She hasn't changed at all lmao this is her real personality the oddity just brought it out to full force.

Glad we are all on the same page now that this girl is fricken insane. I had thought Nadeko was really cute, but she always seemed weird, because the things she said and did never made sense. Even when we initially met her, she had killed mad number of snakes and then strung them up all over the place at a Shrine that worships a Snake God... She was fricken insane since the very beginning, but this episode really spelled it out for us. The Snake God was like "That's how insane you've become, eh?" It is kind of Sad, but I don't want to give her special treatment just because she acted cute. Even Nadeko didn't want people to treat her differently just because she was cute.

Her character in season 1 is literally the most basic childhood friend character possible to write. If you wanna see more of that, there’s enough other shows for that.
